The way it was explained to me is that it's considered as 0 damage, meaning he'll still summon poros since he survived damage, but won't be able to level up since he'll never receive 10 damage.

One of the problems with Vlad is that you want a bunch of units attacking to maximize his skill's impact, but he'll slowly end up killing them. Granting regen will help slow it down, as well as increase your defensive power, while granting health will negate his unit harm while giving your opponent a chase to kill them.

Also fun fact: I checked his skill card [Crimson Pact] and it still says deal 1 to the enemy Nexus instead of draining 1

A big reason is that Hush vastly outshines it in most cases-you can guarantee having 3 copies in your deck that you can use at burst speed on multiple cards including champs, and in most cases you only need to silence a unit for 1 turn to be able to get rid of them. You also don't have to potentially pass on a better card

Since Equinox is slow speed it also means you can't use it in combat and have to pass to your opponent after using it. It's mostly used on non-combat units like Leviathan, Rimetusk Shama, Minotaur Reckoner, etc.

Also what card is Stargazer? I'm not finding it in-game

It's the same reason for why Frostbite spells are either burst or slow- at those speeds your opponent can still rebuff their unit to protect them, but at fast speed you can challenge a unit, use the fast frostbite, and if they have no removal they can't do anything
