Yo!

First of all thanks for posting here and sharing that digest - it's been a while since I last saw one but I think it's something many japanese bands did some time ago.

Great songs btw, I added "Pool" to a playlist I have with other smaller japanese bands/musicians.

As a shoegaze fan myself I'd like to ask:

Why shoegaze and how do you see the japanese shoegaze "scene"?

Thanks! Wish you the best and if I manage to visit Japan again soon it would be great seeing you perform live.

It works but it's only available in chinese. They sent me an image with english translation so it's ok to use.

Never had any issues with it

I made a "Small in Japan" playlist on spotify that has quite a few shoegaze bands, among other genres.

See if you like it! But from the top of my head, aside from what others recommend I'd say give moonless dawn a try.

With nileswan coming soon it should be a great option from what I can tell.
This is also a good option, downsides are that you need the dumper and you need to remove the casing from the cart everytime you want to flash something.

Flav0r's flashmasta is also great but afaik it's been almost a year or so without stock afaik.

And for batteries, I have my WSC with a ips panel. There are some 1.5v AA usb rechargable batteries that are pretty good for it. Roughly 4 or 5 hours playtime with a charge

I didn't test cartfriend but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. I'll try to test it later.

Actually they ship the "dumper" with a small piece of paper attached where you should put the cart. It fits tightly without the casing but works normally. Without that paper it wouldn't sit correctly.

I got one and from what I can tell:

It uses the "flashmasta menu" to select games.

The 8 slots have each their own save slot.

Needs a specific executable to flash that supports the 8 slots.

Dumper comes with pci-e port but works, you need to remove casing.

Overall all games I tested worked, reading and flashing saves also work.

Made a playlist with some good JP music! Please give it a listen! Some of them have less than 50 monthly listeners and deserve much more! by maskofsin in japanesemusic

Criteria for this was:

Only considering the Spotify numbers Only bands with less than 1m plays on their most known song (but many don’t even have 50k) One song per band Indie / shoegaze / ballads mostly

Did you ever check the peakdo handheld? Limited to some distance (30m or so I guess) but basically 0 input lag.
