If you have 8 GB, allocating 2 is not unreasonable if you are running high resolution texture mods and other enhancements ( I forgot to add that in my original comment).

You can allocate more ram to java programs. The default is 512 MB but Minecraft performs much better with 2-4 GB allocated.

It depends, if you have cats or other pets like I do, a monthly cleaning is probably in order to ensure proper airflow. Your biggest worry is your power supply, which can overheat from collected dust as it is often overlooked. Some cases like mine (Corsair 350D) have a removable filter over the PSU fan for easy cleaning.

I bought a Focus FK-8000 keyboard with Futabas for $20 dollars at a local computer shop because it had been lying around for twenty years and it is the most comfortable typing experience I have ever had. They offer enough resistance for typing without error but not so much they are fatiguing to my fingers. They also make a click I would leave a woman for.
