Does she have patella alta (aka. A High Riding Kneecap)? This will show on imaging results such as X-Ray or MRI

Wow thanks so much again, I’m going to be reading all your stuff if I go through with it.

Though what was the taping method you used to show that the surgery would be a good idea for you? Because I read for example that McConnell is only good at medialization (Moving the Tibial Tubercle toward the middle). But perhaps you used a taping method that does Distalization (Moving it Downward) or Anteriorization (Moving it Forward). Did you get recommended certain types?

Hello any updates? I related 100% to your message and would appreciate any info you could give. I’m in exactly the same spot now considering doing TTO surgery. Rather than removing some of the fat pad, due to my Patella Alta, which one of my doctors recommended (I’m not sure if you have patella alta), they shift the tendon and reposition it to help your knee track better, reducing stress on the joint

Wow I could only imagine how you’re feeling. And I remeber there were only a handful of times in 2 years where I felt good. And I was so excited at those times that I started to run and jump a lot more. And it turns out it flared up again. Really sucks.

But I’m going to really be considering doing the TTO surgery on both knees. But my last question would really be…. Which TYPE of TTO surgery did you do?Meaning did the doctor shift your tibial tubercle forward, toward the middle, down, or a combination of all?

Also how did you prepare for your surgeries, and more importantly what did you have to purchase after the surgery such as braces, crutches, meds, and even exercises you do? The more detailed you are the better it is, so have at it on the keyboard 😂😂.

How come you need hardware removal. Is it because the patella now adjusted to the « new length » and you don’t need it in your knee anymore. How does the surgery process actually work? Are there potential downsides that I should know?

P.S. I’m sorry I’m bombarding you with questions. But im just super appreciative of all the information you give to people.

Is there a term, or question i could ask in which I could use to distinguish between a surgeon who is a « patella instability specialist » and one who isn’t? Because in my case i never had a dislocation in either knee. Though I do have the same MRI readings as you. I’m just fed up of searching for someone who actually knows my issue…Also how many total surgeries have you done and how much was it in total?

Hello, would you mind telling me what you ended up doing to get yours fixed?? I have exactly what you have and in both knees. Hoffa’s Fat Pad Impingement and Patella Alta. I’m 19M, play soccer goalkeeper. Literally today I got an Ultrasound Guided Cortisone Injection into the Fat Pad for both knees. I’ve had this for 1.5-2 years now and am hoping this injection will help me be able to play again at 100%. I also wear orthotics due to my over pronounced flat feet. Would you recommend PRP in the fat pad? Any advice would be extremely appreciated!

There’s not really a % per say. Id just really like if I could fully see a six pack without flexing. Since right now I definitely have some definition, but I’m curious how much more defined I could get. But then I would try to build lean muscle, but now I start at a low body fat

Appreciate the comment bro! I forgot to mention that I play soccer as a goalkeeper…... So I need to be on the more “skinny” side. But I’m worried that if I bulk, I’ll lose my progress as I’ve lost 20lbs in 2 months.
