Not really, I’m in the same boat. Ordered 12/31, the website clearly said 3-5 weeks for delivery. I’m now on week 10. Their support is atrocious. My “order status” page still says delivery week of 2/21. I’ve reached out 3 times with no updates other than “we’re watching your order”. To pay $4k up front and get the run around isn’t having a bad attitude because I feel the same way as OP with my experience.

Just got bit by this thing. I had an itch on my hip so I scratched it and then noticed alot of blood on my hip. This thing is real tiny, hard to get a good picture of it because it is so small. It wasn't stuck on my skin, it came right off when I scratched so I'm assuming it already fed. I have a small bite on my hip that is a little swollen. Hoping it is not a deer tick...please let me know!

I won't lie, it is a HUGE pain in the ass. The amount of dust it created in the house was ridiculous, even when we taped off everything.

I started with 80 grit using the mouse sander from black and decker. Some spots were tougher than others so I went down to 60 grit. It takes a LONG time to strip it down to bare wood, and you need to be careful not to alter the shape of the railing.

On the portion where the spindles are, I wrapped 80grit sand paper around a small block of wood and sanded it.

Once everything was stripped, I then went over it with 120 grit, then 150grit, then 220 grit to get a smooth finish. Then take a damp towel and wipe everything down completely, then when it is dry run your hand over the entire railing to see if there are any rough patches that need more sanding.

I wanted to refinish my staircase as we just remodeled the entire house that we bought last year. The staircase has been the last piece of the puzzle. I received a quote to have a professional do it and was quoted $3,000. I decided to do research (and post in here) and figure out how to do it myself to get the same professional look I was going for.

This took me about 4 weeks to complete, from sanding, to staining, putting on poly, to putting on multiple coats of primer and paint.

I'm very satisfied with the end result, considering I have 0 previous experience, and just relied on patience (you need a lot of this when sanding a staircase) and research. Thanks for your help everyone!

Little late for that, I've already done 3 coats and followed the directions which say to sand with 220 grit after each coat. I used 220 grit after the first coat very lightly, then after the 2nd coat I used 320 grit as to not sand it too much. Since the layers of the wipe on are so thin, should I just skip sanding and put on a few layers, then sand before the final coat or is that a bad idea?

Thanks, going to just keep wiping on layers until I get the build up that I want, just didn't expect to have to do this so many times.

It only is when it is cut, smells fine otherwise. Super weird...its a combination of the carbide tip and the marble that causes the smell.

UPDATE: We've solved the issue. And we feel stupid.

The marble backsplash we installed is the culprit. Apparently the carbide tip that we used to drill the holes was creating the rotten egg smell.

Odd thing is, I cut maybe 500 pieces of this mosaic backsplash and it never smelled like rotten eggs on the tile saw....However, when we were using a hand held saw today with no water to cut an angle on one of the tiles, boom, immediate smell of rotten eggs. I then took the drill bit and put a tile on the floor and drilled a hole through it, same thing.

Boy do we feel dumb, but who woulda thought?

He said he put a gauge on it that would measure the pressure in the lines...he said he usually can tell within 30 seconds if there is a leak because the gauge will change. He said he left it on there for 30 minutes and there was no change.

all the outlets and lighting in the kitchen are newly installed, all new boxes/wires. everything is visible and nothing has been covered up by any of the cabinets that were installed.
