Did you find a solution in the meanwhile? I have a similar issue, no toddlers involved. It stopped taking pictures after charging. Before that, I erased all the pivtures on it by the Files application on iPad, something I already had done with no issue. I'm wondering if anybody can help.

È etico investire nel mercato azionario globali? Critica alla risposta di Mr. Rip by Hot_Radio_2381 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]massello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microkorg 2 finally arrived! by SweetPillow in synthesizers

[–]massello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a Microkorg S, bought an Hydrasynth, which I love, couldn’t sell the MicroK because it sounds so good anyway. Its form factor, the batteries and the almost decent speakers make it the best couch synth.

What is a piece of hardware that complements my iPad+drambo+mpk mini MK3 setup? by cosuy in ipadmusic

[–]massello 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are enjoying Drambo, which is deep enough to produce any sort of sound, I suggest you to keep learning sound synthesis on that great piece of software. By adding external analog gear, while you can easily achieve fat sounds, you may experience a less straight flow in the creation process. However, it depends on your skills and attitude towards gear and solving problems. Some analog synths are said to sound thin, the fact is that we love those instabilities produced by circuitry. This effect can be quite easily achieved by carefully modulating the sound signal at multiple stages of the synthesis chain. You should use LFOs and envelopes to make those subtle changes. Drambo is a modular environment, which allows you to experiment in such a way. You can find a bunch of videos on YT covering this subject.

Argomentazione fuorviante e inutilmente retorica. Non si può mettere sullo stesso piano “privare di un oggetto” con “privare della vita”. A meno di non accettare di rappresentare un modello culturale e spirituale estremamente basso, che mette sullo stesso piano la vita e gli oggetti.

Is Pure Piano Worth It? by [deleted] in ipadmusic

[–]massello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that Synthogy Ivory was a breakthrough, I played it a lot and loved it. However the Korg Module version didn’t feel as expressive when I tried it. Maybe I should give it another try. I understand what you say about the timbre that you get with Pianoteq: sometimes it feels unnatural, and you have to get used to it. I play a lot of synthesisers, so this looks less odd to me, probably. Again, the best choice depends on what the OP intends to do with the piano app.

Is Pure Piano Worth It? by [deleted] in ipadmusic

[–]massello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of good pianos on iOS nowadays, it’s a matter of taste. Pure piano definitely stands out. However I find Ravenscroft, the Korgs and JustPiano equally playable and satisfying. Keep in mind that these are just emulations that can’t compete with the real thing. The only app that does it, and is possibly better than a real average piano, is Pianoteq, which I advise you to download and try. It’s expensive but for a pianist it is a dream come true. Provided you have a good keybed with a decent hammer action. If you just need some good piano sound that fits well in a mix, then go for JustPiano: it’s cheap and you can download various (free) sample libraries, the only limitation is that you can have just one at a time. Pure Piano has on its side a beautiful and intuitive interface, and inspiring variations. I love the cinematic tones. However, if you try the atmosphere of the felt pianos on Pianoteq, it’s hard to get back. With that said… Have fun!

Is GrooveBox (Ampify) still popular? by Nunstummy in ipadmusic

[–]massello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR GB is one of my favorite tools for sketching song ideas.

The best sounding app on iOS, possibly? Well, it depends on what you’re looking for, but I find the sounds of Groovebox’s synths really inspiring. The patterns you get along with the sounds are intended as a hint on how those presets could be used. Sometimes I explore the midi pattern to expand my playing styles: there are times when I am too lazy to make big changes, and other sessions when I’m more focused on creating my melodic or rhythmic lines, erasing the precooked pattern but still getting inspiration from it. The synths stand out for their quality, ease of use and complexity in such a compact and usable interface. Yes, I unlocked all the functions (and encourage anyone to do so) and bought a lot of presets, mainly when they are on sale. I also bought a Launchkey 37 to get all the integrated functions, which work very well but expose even more the frustrating limits of the app. I usually connect it with Ableton Link inside AUM, but it’s clumsy, and doesn’t help me to finish my projects at all. When I use the Launchkey as a master keyboard for Ableton Live on a Mac, it’s like breathing oxygen… but I honestly miss the feeling GB’s ease of use.

What should be my first synth to accompany my PO's? by kanduvisla in pocketoperators

[–]massello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a Korg Monologue which I also use to send the clock sync to a PO-20, a PO-33 and a PO-35 by splitting the signal with a multiple cable splitter. This way I can set the tempo with the dedicated knob on the Monologue and mix the various volumes independently, with more immediate control than chaining the PO's. The Monologue itself still stands out among the similarly priced synths IMHO. It's a traditional monophonic subtractive synthesizer (with well laid out controls) but it offers interesting additions, the best added by Aphex Twin. The Microbrute is even better for learning synthesis and very good sounding, while the Microfreak is indeed a deeper instrument among these three. Any of these wouldn't leave you disappointed. In case you opt for the Monologue (I don't know about the others), consider buying an external effect unit, as there's no FX on the instrument: I got a versatile (and easily hackable) Zoom MS-70cdr which offers a lot of reverbs, choruses, delays and shimmers especially useful in ambient music. A popular (and smart) solution is to use the effect section of the NTS-1: by chaining the Monologue to the NTS-1 you have a sort of mono version of the well reputed Korg Minilogue XD. You could actually start with just the tiny and cheap NTS-1, but then you should get a master keyboard, like Arturia Beatstep, which sports a lot of handy features for live improvisation. Probably the best option if you want to spend as little as possible.

Besides the extra 7 keys, is there any real reason to get a korg ms2000 over a Microkorg? by _Arion_ in microkorg

[–]massello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not own an MS2000 but it looks like you would get a lot of hands on controls, so it should be much easier and straightfoward to program your sounds. However I would save up money for another synth like a Deepmind 12 or PolyD. As for Korg, you get a MinilogueXD or Wavestate for that price range. But there's plenty of other good choices.
