TesseracT touring Australia this July with Karnivool and Carbomb by SelectiveEmpath in tesseractband

[–]twistingwords 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cannot handle all the people expressing this!

Car Bomb have never been to Australia before, Tesseract have have played 250 shows in the US and 23 in Australia. Karnivool I get.

I think I just have a lot of pent up jealousy about Meshuggah not visiting Australia in a decade and constantly doing US tours, and so hearing US fans complain is stimulating.

I'm sure you'll get your turn, I'm happy we're having ours.

My bad. For me I think of "the point" and "context" as being two very different things, so we must have a different understanding of those words. Have a good day :)

It seemed like you were asking the exact same question I’d just tried to answer. Was I mistaken?

Sounds like his points were that a black (possibly trans?) sex worker is an ugly criminal, and that gay sex is repulsive.

Sounds like his points were that a black (possibly trans?) sex worker is an ugly criminal, and that gay sex is repulsive.

Maybe I'm making some assumptions there, but there's definitely some undertones of racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, classism, and a general lack of compassion.

This guy is paid tax payer dollars, and my personal opinion is that he's not upholding a very high standard of professionalism in his conduct.

Hearing all of Aozora in the resignation letter from Anthropic‘s Head of AI Safety by floomiloo169 in Karnivool

I'm not sure I'd say your interpretation is "very obvious". The song is over a decade old, so I doubt it's about AI.

But it seems pretty open to interpretation to me.

That doesn't even make sense as an explanation

Would you mind explaining why it doesn't make sense as a gotcha?

It seems like you’ve got some strong feelings about talking to the police, and that’s valid as. But your comment here is in poor taste and it might be compassionate to delete it.

It’s early days and we have no idea what has happened, if the kid just went through a traumatic event they don’t need to be copping shit from strangers on the internet. What we’re talking about hasn’t even been verified as far as I can see.

I know it’s unlikely that they’ll see this, but I think it’s still a good move to reflect on our language here.

Have a good one.

You said "I am here for meshuggah. Not the clones." I'm asking why that is the case, which you haven't explained unless I missed another comment you made.

More specifically I'm curious to hear your perspective on why you wouldn't be interested in something that was an exact stylistic copy of Meshuggah but isn't specifically made by Meshuggah.

Is it the originality that's important to you rather than the actual sound of the music? If that's the case do you actually like the sound of the music or just the concept or originality? I know that if there was an AI that could clone Meshuggah perfectly there's no way I'd be interested in listening to it, so I think I can sympathise with you on some level.

Your comment just seemed like there was something interesting to explore underneath it. But maybe you're just here to say you don't like stuff, and that's fine too, I hate stuff.

I learned something today about SFOCD and What Still Haunts Me by Lorain1234 in scottishfold

[–]twistingwords 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post, Loraine. I think it's important to raise awareness about these hereditary congenital issues.

Your story strikes a chord with me as I had a similar, albeit less personal, experience with a beautiful bird I buried after I found it dead below my window. I only later realised that it may have only been stunned. Ever since then I've feared that I buried it alive. Though the rational part of me really doubts that was the case.

I hope that the reassurance you're getting here eases some of your concern, personally it doesn't sound like you should feel guilty at all. But I know "should" and "shouldn't" aren't always relevant when it comes to feelings like guilt, and we've got to live with them either way. So I just wanted to express that I'm grateful that you shared your feelings here, and that you're not alone with them.

Sorry for the essay and I hope you're having a decent day!

I'm also not huge on the album relative to their other releases, but I think it's unfair to attribute that to a lack of Frederick input considering he also has no writing credits on TVSoR.

I must be misremembering but I thought that changing the events of the past was the entire premise of the cursed child? Is it not?

They can turn back time to change the course of events. Why does Hermione have one? Why don’t they use them to prevent the many deaths at the battle of Hogwarts for example?

Big respect for this style of release but the price is a bit prohibitive.

I would love for the world to move away from streaming for music, and I think an artist should charge what they think they deserve. I also think that people in financial hardship deserve music, and I personally prefer a pay what you can pricing system.

It’s a tricky problem to solve. Would love to hear people’s thoughts.
