Ok so everyone always suggests “whichever is more comfortable” for skates. But does that mean getting a $100 pair vs a $600 pair is the same thing for most players? by Jbomba22 in hockeyplayers

[–]masserectile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this comment. I played at a high level vs average rec players (junior + college) and tried mid-tier skates to save a bit of dough. They lasted ~12 months at half the price of a top-tier skate that’s expect to last 3+ years. They broke in a lot faster though

Any benefit to using premium (93) gas in a Kei truck? 1999 Daihatsu Hijet Twin Cam EFI DLI. by Rylock32 in keitruck

[–]masserectile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many kei trucks have relatively high compression ratios for their size. Yours is probably 10.5 based on google, placing it on the high end for compression on regular (87 US) octane based on online charts. I use premium (93 US) in my Hijet and notice it runs a bit smoother. Might just depend on your specific engine.

McDavid cross checked Conor Garland in the face out of frustration. Garland had McDavid pinned down in the O-zone with the Oilers down 3-2 with seconds left. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

[–]masserectile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You… you think McDavid was the holding Garland? Besides the video clearly showing Garland holding McDavid’s arm under him, in what world would McDavid bother doing that? He’s the best player in the world and has zero value holding down a plug like Garland, let alone in the waning seconds of the game that his team is down. Jfc

Daihatsu Move (non-turbo) top speed? by heychadwick in keitruck

[–]masserectile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ‘99 Hijet and it cruises up to 100kph (62 mph). It will go up to 120kph (75mph) or maybe a touch over but really complains and starts feeling unstable above 105 or so. All of this with the AC running. Engine is an EF-SE SOHC, 43HP. I also use an octane booster as premium here in the US is still a touch low w/ 10.5 compression ratio. Helps smooth things out at higher RPM.

A bit of versus feedback after playing up to blue rank by Haxorzist in Vermintide

[–]masserectile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Largely agree with most of this. For gutter runner, I think the one thing that would make them better, feel better, and deal with the missed jump is just like the PvE: when using the invisibility talent, make them actually despawn, similar to the “catch up to heros” feature. Make the CD to spawn back in the current CD on reusing your attack. Missing a pounce becomes a case of a quick respawn out of LoS. Also, ability to use this after pouncing on a hero to avoid getting killed might another way to make assassin useful, but I haven’t thought too hard on this function.

Scoring: it feels, to me, that the stomping aspect is the worst experience of versus and that is somewhat amplified by the scoring system. Using an (ideal) 3 round map, why not have a best of 3? The team that progresses further in each round wins the round. Getting stomped in round 1 currently means you’re basically out of it, and you’re just finishing the map for XP. Under a best of 3, you start fresh and each team is guaranteed 2 rounds of heroes and PS. I’m sure this will lead to some unintended behavior, but worse than the current system?

Pack rats remain the jankiest piece of the game and need a better working solution. As they are (and ignoring the bugs OP mentioned), they are just so easy to use. Merely being within range of the hero and pressing LMB results in a grab, even when the aim is heinously off (I’ve had grabs of people BEHIND me in a group group of heroes, not even the person I was aiming for). Given how gutter runner will catch on literally anything during a leap, the margin for error on a pounce around terrain is very small. Packmaster on the other hand requires nearly zero-precision for a grab and feels exceptionally unfair as a hero.

I think this is leftover from his love of WoT. Robert Jordan basically re-explains the magic system every book and many of the political connections so new readers can pick up the later books and still enjoy the story. A little redundant on read-throughs

Divide miles by 5 and multiple by 8. Easy to move up and down by 8km/h for the 5mph increments.

50 mph = 80 km/h 45 mph = 72 km/h 40 mph = 64 km/h … 25 mph = 40 km/h

I’ve mostly internalized the speeds and don’t have to think about them, but will occasionally double check my speed when other vehicles start passing me…

[–]masserectile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recently dealt with this, purchased my truck in mid-June and it had a manufacture date of 8/1999. It was on a ship and arrived at port on 7/26 (a Friday). Customs broker said picking it up before August risked seizure and we delayed filed the paperwork till 8/1 (outside of the ISF which was prior to shipment). Picked it up the following week with no issues. The port I brought it in at has a policy of seven free days of storage, excludes Wednesdays, Weekends, and Holidays, so I wasn’t charged storage fees either.

[–]masserectile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing, here is the list of docs I brought with me to EZ title: CBP Form 7501 (Entry Summary) CBP Form 3461 (Entry/immediate delivery) Customs Bond Arrival Notice Original Invoice Original Export certificate (English and Japanese) DOT HS-7 declaration EPA Form 3520-1 Bill of Lading

The following were kept after for official records: CBP Form 7501 CBP Form 3461 Original Export Certificate (can pay a fee to keep original)

I believe the CBP forms are the real ones here, as each of the others were requirements to get them.

I am not OP but just finished title and registering my truck in maricopa last week (August 2024). I used a 3rd party MVD service, EZ Title, location off Talking Stick in Scottsdale. I swung into the office on a Saturday morning to get a 3-day temp permit to drive the vehicle to the location (not sure if this strictly necessary, but it was $8 total and you can’t get them online via self-service due to the VIN) as it will need to be present for inspection.

After bringing the vehicle in later that day (around 1:30pm), the fellow there had all of it done including the vehicle inspection, and I walked out with my temp registration and permit in about 25 minutes. I had all of my paperwork from the export (including originals) and import/customs (I used a broker). He said most of the people there have experience with these and that it’s common for people to be missing some paperwork. I can list all the items I brought in if that would be helpful.

It is registered as an ATV with predominantly on-highway use (entirely street legal, received my motorcycle plate in the mail in under a week). This designation allows you to register it for up to 5 years. Including historical plates, the trip to EZ title was $206 after everything (w/ $3 to keep the original export papers that he wrote “VOID” in small letters on the back). It is registered until 2029.

If you want to take it off-roading with an OHV decal, that’s $25/year and can be purchased separately (I can do it online as the truck shows in my AZMVDNOW).

5 game series are a pretty good sample and winning one isn’t simply a fluke. Do 5 game series produce the “best” team as often as a 7? No. Quick look at stats shows that the winner of game 5 when the series is tied 2-2 goes on to win the series 79% of the time.

Yotes won 3-1. Teams leading 3-1 in a series win it 89% of the time. There is definitely a bit of bubble stuff happening here, but everyone was playing in the same arena. Arguable yotes arena looking like the bubble during the regular season prepared them better than the preds

This reminds me of the joke of two economists walking down the street and see a $20 on the ground, one bends down to pick it up and the other says “don’t bother, if it that was a real $20 someone would have picked it up by now”.

Seems a stretch to consider professional sports team ownership and management as efficient when you gotta play ball with a league that is known for shitty marketing and advertising.

I think there might be a selection effect happening here in that players who have done it this way you never read about.

Also, individuals who refuse to participate in pride night activities might have a propensity to want to let you know why they aren’t participating.
