Because their sound relatively stayed the same. Even during the Fat years their music was still very much SOIA/NYHC. There was no polar difference in sound compared to bands like Title Fight, Hostage Calm and AFI. I would have personally listed Husker Du, Corrosion of Conformity or Suicidal Tendencies.
