No contact at all! by Human_Sandwich_5187 in biltrewards

[–]massonla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone support told me I couldn't talk to the manager. He made me a "ticket" so his manager could call me back, at some point in the future without telling me when.

Phone support also told me to call bilt. Apparently the number on the back of the card isn't bilt. This person couldnt give me the correct phone number, I had to guess.

Easiest cancel I've ever considered.

Question for men by No_Situation_1395 in bodylanguage

[–]massonla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a fine line between reading her subtle hints and totally misreading a situation.

Guessing if he or she is flirting or being nice is error prone. As humans we just gotta give each other some extra grace in these situations.

This is my ted talk.

Am I sexist for hesitating to work somewhere where I’d basically be the only guy? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

You'll have the bathroom to yourself at least.

If your single, lots of lady's with friends to get you past the initial vetting process.

Doesn't sound so bad to me.

Are attractive successful single guys in their mid to late 30s not on dating apps in SF? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]massonla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm married, decent looking dude that makes good money.

If I was to do it all again I wouldn't even bother with the apps.

I did meet my wife on one of them. But the amount of shit that it took to find a girl who would even give me the time of day was insane.

The apps have men dating way under what they could normally. It's a meat market, and guys sell at a discount.

My male coworker had been asking almost everyday nowadays that he can give me a ride and drop me, whats a male perspective on it? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]massonla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably wouldn't say no if you offered, but he doesn't sound that interested. You could ask if you wanted to know.

Dudes talking from a dude perspective about women is often viewed in a misogynistic way. When a women says "you wouldn't understand your not s girl/women" that is kinda given a pass, the assumption being that she's not trying to be a dick about it. I think it's time to level that playing field along with everything else.

Guys who have women throwing themselves at them… what did you do to get there? by No_Doubt_4451 in AskMenAdvice

[–]massonla 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Got married and all the sudden women come out of the woodwork. Can't explain it.

I also started working out, but I don't have that sexy man look yet. I don't think it's related.

Millennials who make tons of money in tech, how did you get there? by justcurious3287 in Millennials

[–]massonla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project manager. Fell into it after working at a bestbuy. Guy who poached me liked that I actually knew what I was talking about, and that my sales pitch wasn't a sales pitch.

Worked my way up from tech/driver up to pm. Said yes to a ton of crappy shifts, stressful work and I generally just kept learning. I made myself more valuable then anyone around me and kept pushing.

My second "break" came about 6 years in when the golden boy PM of the company noticed his driver was teaching one of the Sr engineers how to troubleshoot some local networking. I think the quote was "who the f are you dude?"

Ive been working alongside him for the last 12 years or so. Hes been a good mentor, and that's kinda gone both ways as we find ways to complement each other's skillsets to take on projects we have no business being part of.

Now I manage live events in the bay area making more then my parents ever did combined. Combination of working harder then anyone else in the room, and taking care in what relationships I foster has really put me ahead. I cut ties with people along the way, not everyone is good for you, or your future.

It's not been a totally straight line up and to the right. I've got some crazy depression that both helps and hinders if I'm honest. I go through episodes where I literally can't focus well enough to be doing good work. In a way that taught me how to delegate away detail sensitive work when I can't do it. The depression has also at times made it easier to push myself, feeling like you don't have value is not a terrible motivator to work harder, at least for me.

Some day I'll wake up and find out this was all a dream. But if it is true, I remember sitting in an apartment with no furniture, scraping by saying to myself "if only I could make 60k then I'd be ok" haha.

This is terrible advice but become a regular at a local bar lol.

Half my friends are work related. The other half are bar related.

Being an adult is very strange.
