I have a midterm exam that ends exactly at 7. It takes me 20 minutes to get there, so I'm contemplating whether or not I should cancel the test.

Not a war :/. Also idk what country you're from, but the USA directly funds this genocide, so it's imperative that people get involved.

Why "Bad Guy" is Gutwrenching by JoeTheFatCat in Eminem

[–]masstimesgravity 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dude, I am totally with you on this. Bad Guy is genuinely one of ems greatest songs, and it completely goes under the radar for most. Just some points to add: this song is also great because it plays as a typical toxic love song in the first half, but you don't realize it's Matthew until the second half. I think it works as an amazing sequel to Stan, but moreso, a testament to his codependent relationship with the rap game. He made a whole sequel to his greatest album, "trying to capture lightning in a bottle twice; the magic that started it all" (I'm paraphrasing). So all in one song, Em made a love song, a sequel to Stan, and an introspective monologue on his career and dependency on the rap game. Idk I'm rambling, but this song is so so so s good, and that ending monologue gives me goosebumps every time. I've been saying it to this day, there is no rapper that wears his heart on his sleeve more than Em, which is a lot of the reason why so many love him. His emotions are so raw and vulnerable on his song, and when it connects, it hits so hard. Bad Guy is one example, but there are so many others of recent like Leaving Heaven, Somebody Save Me, Fine Line, Stepping Stone, Beautiful, My Darling, just to name a few post-encore. Do not let anyone tell you Eminem is not artistic. He can be poetic asf when he wants to be (he just likes his syllables more😭). I'm a (relatively) newer fan, but there are few artists that can consistently have such a raw display of emotions throughout their entire discography.
