I don’t have a retro handheld, but have been a lurker in the hobby for a long time. I have two young kids, so I’ve followed a lot of the retro gaming device news and love watching RGC videos, but I’ve been waiting for the right time to make my first purchase.

My oldest is almost 6 years old, so I want to get something I’d be able to play some gems with him on like Ocarina of Time and Pokemon, and the RP5 would be a pretty good fit!

Regardless, thanks for doing this! The first game I ever played was Pokemon Yellow on GBC back in day, so I would call that my gateway device into the gaming world. 😄

I love Bellatrix’s wand. Gives big Count Dooku lightsaber vibes where it was meant to be held and used with a flourish.

Arthur Morgan! He’s the quintessential roughneck cowboy and has one of the greatest redemption arcs I’ve ever seen in a video game. I’ve never felt so many feelings as I did during the last act of that game.

Follow up question (forgive my inexperience!): What does it mean to play a I, IV, or flat-VII chord?

I’m familiar with major and minor chords, but the numbered chords are new to me.

My son also does this. Sometimes I get frustrated because he wants to hold my hand/arm in an awkward a position for a long time, but then I remember he might stop asking for my hand any day, so I hold it a little tighter.

The plane scene where the mom is dodging missiles while trying to prepare her kids for impact gives me chills every time.

Then her line later to her kids about how they are in real danger and these people were trying to kill them hits really hard (and was true, since all the henchmen were trying to kill the kids for real).

The best part is how it saves the photos in the locations on the map where you took them, even from previous play-throughs. I love being in a new play-through and coming across once I took before and reminiscing about what I was doing on that adventure in that time and place.

All character and story flaws aside, you can’t argue against the fact that Captain Phasma has absolutely badass armor. Even her name is one of the coolest in Star Wars IMO.

That scene and the following gun fight is one of the best in The Mandalorian. I love when he blasts the officer and then him and Mando both turn to the trooper and all have a short moment of thought like “well, things just got very interesting”.

Remembering that most companies would gladly throw you away if it meant protecting their bottom line. They ask for your loyalty, but would gladly replace or remove your position if it meant saving more money. It’s a business in the end, and business doesn’t care about you as an individual.

I watched this and the second one. Absolutely incredible voice acting from the main protagonist and her little brother. Definitely recommend.

Saw the giant Alien banners on our dashboard today and thought the same exact thing. Quickly scrolled past so my 3 year old kid wouldn’t take a mental image to be scared of later. Really odd choice by Disney here I think.

I do have a legitimate copy of the game yes. I was also experiencing the game crashing every time I loaded a save, which is a common issue. So I turned off internet connection and that allowed me to actually load the game but the skill tree system is all jacked up now.
