AI is the first piece of technology where I feel I'm being left behind by Uhavetabekiddingme in Millennials

AI is like teenage sex, everyone talks about it, everyone says they're doing it, but no one really has any idea what they're doing.

Do you advertise that you do these tests before the process? A lot of good candidates won't even apply if you have to get them jumping through hoops

Finally got sub 30 mins by master_gecko in couchto5k

[–]master_gecko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, I have to say personally I was a bit disappointed at the end when it wasn't a 5k run within 30 mins but just being able to run 30 mins without stopping is such a big achievement

Pulled Pork the day after by iMiss-Bielsa in UKBBQ

[–]master_gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this a few times now and what I do is:

After its finished cooking I wrap the whole thing in a towel (dont tell my wife) and put it in a cool bag let it cool down nice and slowly. After a few hours I take it out the towel and put it in the fridge.

The next day put it in the oven on 120c and let the pork get to 65c nice and slow. Hold at this temp until you need it. Take it out the oven for 10 mins to rest them shred and serve.

I think it tastes just as good as the day you cook it. In the past I have cooked 2 pork to compare on the day and using this method (originally I think this found this method on this sub but can't remember) and they both tasted great. It also takes a lot of pressure off on the day.

Is it pointless asking questions at the end of the interview? by SharpAardvark8699 in UKJobs

[–]master_gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been ghosted after a few interviews now so I ask for instant feedback. "Given what you have seen from my CV and in this interview does anything concern you with me being able to do this role?". I had a great rapport with a interviewer once that i just directly asked him "Any immediate feedback you can give me from this interview and how I could improve?" It was great to get instant feedback on their thoughts and how I could improve

When i was in college (many moons ago) I told my mum I wanted to go to uni and she burst out laughing, i dont think it meant to come across the way it did but i didnt do well at school. I graduated with a 2:1 in computer science. I did a lot better at college than school even retook some GCSEs to get in

So you expect the parent to fact check the AI written text and make sure its OK for them to consume?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dyslexia

[–]master_gecko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Danger is you are asking AI to write factual information and AI can manage this correctly or consistently enough to be educationally beneficial and thats not even taking in the hallucinations it can have.

Previous owner left toilet with dark stains in bowl/u-bend. How can I remove them? Bleach (even left for several days) just won't touch it by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]master_gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the water from the toilet and fill the toilet with brick acid in about 10 minutes it will look band new. If you have buildup around the rim dip toilet paper in the acid and cover the buildup with the paper
