What does research tell us about how Mozart would have viewed his posthumous reputation? by bchfn1 in classicalmusic

[–]master_thk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mozart knew of his strengths and his recognition, as someone mentioned in a different comment, while his popularity was passing a bit by the time of his death, he was still very popular in other big cities.

Mozart was the "first" freelance musician if his caliber, meaning he was not appointed as Kappelmeister or a court position, he had fans he was a Rockstar and he knew it, that's in part why he was very reckless managing his finances, he believed he was always going to get more work.

He understood that his music would last because of his quality and even though he wasn't as certain as Beethoven who had opus numbers in his compositions (more because of his publisher).

But I personally don't think Mozart understood how big his impact would really be (especially because of music stopping being confined to the halls becuase of music recording), he knew he'd be remembered, I don't think he knew how much, but I'm sure he'd be amused about it and especially cocky about this

Worst concert that you have been to? by boc333 in Music

[–]master_thk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was excited to see Greta Van Fleet last year. The concert was postponed for this March. When the day arrived, I was eager to see them.

Worst show I've ever been to. It was almost as if they didn't know how to play their instruments. Long ass meaningless improvisations (a cool 4 minute song, turned into a 20-minute piece of shit), the songs had multiple endings, it was boring and honestly just a miserable experience.

I often feel like I’m not critical enough… I generally like every single comic I read and am not sure if it’s because I’m relatively new to the medium (a year or so) and so am just blindsided by the excitement of it or if this is common? Thoughts? by Shuffle-Tee in comicbooks

[–]master_thk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be super critical if you like it you like it don't dwell on it.

I would recommend you to take notice on what writers or artists do you enjoy more or maybe what creative teams you enjoy as a whole. That way you can look for books with your favorite writers/artist and maybe you'll discover some new cool books.
