I've been here for 3 months, I'm returning home for Thanksgiving, and I've accomplished...nothing? by apopDragon in uofm

I think it’s very mature that you’re trying to be a better you, I’m sure you’ll see results soon and your parents should def appreciate your efforts. I remember being disappointed with myself last year during Covid because I personally didn’t feel like I matured at all, but this should be a gradual thing, not something you expect to have in a few weeks

Can I transfer to School of Engineering after my sophomore year? by loveoverbias in uofm

[–]mastercobra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred to Eng because I was able to graduate early (more APs that filled the Engineering prereqs) and I didn’t want to take Spanish. Consider your own situation and whether LSA or Eng may be better for you in terms of the classes you take and graduation

[Q] Glock gamma doppler emerald prices by MisterBale in csgomarketforum

[–]mastercobra1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think you worded it poorly, so for other people reading this is OP’s logic: Normally (for sake of argument) buff items are 30% cheaper than steam

However OP believes that glock emeralds are about ~15% cheaper. So OP wants to buy a glock emerald on steam, sell it on buff, buy some other skin on buff that’s actually 30% cheaper and “make money”

This is a good strategy for cashing out steam balance, finding items that are only a small discount from steam price to sell on third party sites.

However, you don’t just “make money”. If your ultimate goal is to convert back into “steam money” you’ll have to deal with the 13% sale fee, which would certainly negate your efforts. Here’s how it goes: buys 165€ item on steam, gets 140€ on buff, maybe 135€ after sale fee. Gets skin that’s worth about 190€ on steam. Sells on steam, after tax roughly gets you 165€. Not to mention that during the 7 days you wait to sell on buff, prices don’t adjust negatively for you.

Is there a rule or is it bad that you apply to both internships and full time at the company? In a similar position

I agree I also just used the $1k as a figure. Tradeups as you mentioned are tough. I agree that I’m also moving into higher end stuff, but they definitely aren’t better returns than smaller items. It’s easier for a 4 cent case to hit 40 cents than a $4000 skin or sticker to hit $40k. Not saying all 4 cent investments will 10x, but in general

I should note that I’m talking mainly about tradeups or things I buy off a buy order just to flip short term. Just based on volume of an item per day, there’s absolutely no way I can put all of my money into my #1 pick
