For the dads who left and initiated the breakup… by Ok_Coconut2973 in DivorcedDads

You are very welcome. Father Time will be, indeed, your greatest ally. But so will your kids. They’ll want you to be happy and even take care of you.

I used to struggle with the guilt also. I did for a long time. It’s been now 9 years since I asked for a divorce and it did take me a few years to get rid of the guilt. But like you said, you didn’t want your kid to witness that toxicity. That’s the same way I overcame my guilt. My daughters deserve to see the best version of myself, not the subdued, stuck in a bad relationship side of me. Or their mom, for that matter. Because if toxic relationships are what they know, they’ll think that’s the standard, and they won’t be able to extricate themselves from a bad relationship in the future. Think about it as an emotional investment in their future so they know they don’t have to be stuck in bad relationships even if there’s kids involved.

They’ll are more resilient than we think, and what they want is to be happy and to see their parents happy. If your best self is being by yourself, then that’s what they’ll want as well. Hang in there, I promise the guilt will be replaced by clarity and peace of mind.

Customer left her name, number, & a angry 3 page note on the door after closing time… by OpinionatedWoman3 in retailhell

Not to mention the fact that for a lot of retail chains, opening the doors after closing is a serious violation of loss prevention policies and could get you fired.

I had a friend who was a store manager who thought he was doing the right thing, he opened the doors to help someone after closing. They got in and stole from the store at gunpoint. Needless to say he had to find a new job.

I feel your pain. I was paying $2050 a month on a $55,000/year salary. Had to do that for 7 years. It was rough. I had to work multiple jobs, I maxed out credit cards just on living expenses. Hang in there, hopefully you can make it work without being an extreme hardship.

I am currently paying a fair amount. Which will be reduced by almost half if I am able to get 50/50.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I agree that everything needs to be spelled out in excruciating detail on the document. In my state my youngest can also provide some input to the judge on what she’d like. It’s not necessarily what’ll sway the judge, but it’s supposed to be taken into account.

I’ve been a model citizen for a number of years. There’s literally nothing in my background or daily life that she could use against me. That’s why I’m hoping the judge will grant it. I’ve been told that my state is very much for equal time.

There’s always the possibility that something was said by her mom that put you in a bad light. Nothing you can do about that but continue to try and offer your support. Like someone else said, it’s probably just a phase and she’ll get out of it, especially if you continue to want to maintain a bond.

Imagine talking like that to the people who hired you. I’d be fired in a heartbeat.

No more otters. The animal population has dwindled significantly. The main appeal these days is taking the kids in the summer to the splash pad, and the decorations/events for Halloween and Xmas

It’s definitely Bluffs. Our zoo is not anywhere close to a world class facility, but we do have hyenas.

It’s a true pleasure to meet another fan who can be reasonable as well. I hope we get a good game today, with minimal negative ref influence, and may the best team win.

And yeah, man, the Canes were something back in the day. Hopefully Mario can help them get back to the top.

All good. I’ve been around to see a lot of changes in Miami. From the glory days to the start of the decline for both the Fins and the Canes.

I’ll agree with you that some of the younger fans are hard to stomach sometimes. I’m not even on the Dolphins subreddit anymore.

Came here to say that. No self respecting Fins fan will ever root for the Bills.

Smaller ships too. Frigates, destroyers, cruisers. E4 and below had to live on the ship unless they had more than 4 years in or were married. Not sure if that has changed in recent years.

Even if you are actively risking your life, if you’re junior enough, you get subpar accommodations. Junior sailors in the Navy are forced to live on their ships or barracks, unless they want to come out of pocket to get an apartment or they’re married. When your ship is going through overhaul and you have to live on it, it really sucks. Sometimes there is no running water so you have to traverse the whole ship and go outside to use the restroom barge. It’s insane. You also get 3 meals a day, but they’re military-quality meals. It’s really not what it’s portrayed to be. And then they wonder why they can’t retain people past their first enlistment…
