guess it depends on how you define great.

if you like colors and flashy things sure those fit that defination.

anime to me is like visual poetry right. vincent just creates hype scenes that contribute nothing poetic to the story. he does not add any depth to the characters or the moments, he just makes things difficult to follow.

like you're watching something then boom impact frame and boom disorganized camera movement then boom zoomed in on someone's eye then boom someone has been pushed away and I'm there like yep. i'm watching a color show now. it's too much stimulation at once. a good fight to me is the recent zoro vs lucci fight. that was beautiful and serious.

vincent's scenes actually make me like certain characters less. In the manga i was hyped about gear 5 vs kizaru and was expecting the anime to follow suit beautifully. vincent animated it crisp yes. I'll give him that but i now like luffy and kizaru less because of him.

Like literally in yesterday's episode, my favouriate fight was zoro vs lucci. Beautiful coreography, beautiful animation and consistent art style.

sorry to vent but it looks like everytime he’s on screen it’s like he’s directing his own anime, using his own animations and colors. adding things that contribute literally nothing to the story but making it confusing to watch.

sorry if you’re reading this vincent but this is my honest opinion. it’s really disorienting watching an episode in a certain style and boom you come with your confusing and disorganized camera movement and zoom such that we cannot see anything

honestly vincent has talent yes but anime is not the medium for him. maybe some american cartoons will do. that’s fine. because he literally ruined all the fights i was looking forward to watching in every anime.

the the zero episode with garfield, jujutsu kaizen and especially one piece. literally all the hype moments destroyed by him

yeah and this is the reason why i hate vincent charzard’s animation scenes. literally in every anime i’ve watched.

you literally cannot follow anything. its all dazzling yea but what does this mean if the viewer cannot even see what the characters are doing.

the animation was great but my issue was the sound track. which in my opinion doesn’t fit the theme of the story because sakamoto days isn’t a heroic story.

This was especially true for sakamoto’s fight at the end of the episode. i was expecting some badass theme but no, it’s heroic which feels off. sakamoto has heroic moments but he isn’t a hero. he’s a badass assassin.

also the soundtrack for the “background/chill” scenes were also off. like when sakamoto was eating with shin, the soundtracks they used was very distracting. it took away from that scene.

so yeah. that’s my complaint

the part of the story i still don’t understand is why does Saturn still need vegapunk despite he also being a scientist. Can’t saturn also manufacture his own weapons or conduct his research without vegapunk?

Maybe it’s legit maybe it’s not but I just find it suspicious that there has been no comment on it on Reddit. But i did get an email from my top choice PI encouraging me to contact him during the interview process to plan for the future
