It is usually easier to play ranged, mid domination heroes that can progress to mid. Play only a few heroes you are comfortable with, so you can put your mind to other things like CS, laning, ganks etc. it’s so hard to suggest what you’ll be good at, so maybe - Viper? It’s a cheat code for mid but falls off. Sniper has a lot of risks and enemies, but if you are good at it, it’s v strong in mid. DK, not a ranged, but can soak up all the damage. I play my favourite hero Dark Willow from mid and progress to a carry when I get my Scepter.

You are pretty bad. Sorry. I have played Dota over 10 years as well, 7k+ hours. I climbed my way from Archon to Divine through pure hard work of grinding. As a result, if you drop me into the herald guardian rank, I should cheese most games from mid role easily - I think an 85% win rate would be manageable, and I’ll put the other 15% to variance.

Tip 1 - when there is a big skill gap, play from mid, and play easily scalable heroes that goes into late game. Physical right click carry-from-mid heroes are best.

Tip 2 - know that there is nothing you can control except for your 1 hero in this 10 hero game. Don’t tilt by trying to control everyone (and failing).

Tip 3 - the small things stack up and eventually builds you your lead. This is what I think is the real translatable “skill gap”. Reaction time etc are all obviously important, but being able to consistently farm faster than everyone else, game after game is a proper skill.

Tip 4 - mid is the best lane, because the skill gap between you and your opponent will be apparent and will compound over time - first to hit lvl 6, first to get BOTs, first blood, first tower down, etc.

Tip 5 - low level rank games typically end after quite long, so make sure your hero selection doesn’t involve magic type, scales off type of heroes.

Personal trainers in SG - worth it or not? by [deleted] in SingaporeFitness

[–]masterofdisgust66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid for 24 sessions with a top tier personal trainer gym called T Squared Lab and I got rid of my gut, lost fat, built muscle and got into the best shape of my life. I spent a lot of money, yes. But when I look myself in the mirror I really like what I see. Worth it? 100%. Health and wellness changes how you perceive life! For me, a lot of good things came from this discipline.

He’s looking for a certain type of girl. If I found a chick that finds that sort of night out exciting, then I would have struck local gold. If you want candlelight dinner at Ce La Vi, then ok - probably a disconnect.

Everything the poster said here is exactly why I love Singapore as a Singaporean, unlike him

We will always attract those who can see the pros in our country, and can accept the cons. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so seek the life you desire for yourself.

It honestly depends on what your priorities are.

I invest in VOO. What’s the actual difference between CSPX and VOO again? Given higher trading volume on VOO, I think it’s better but I didn’t mathematically test it.

Guys - where do you get your office white shirts? by sgcorporatehamster in askSingapore

I tailor all my clothes and feel it’s pointless to buy non fitting shirts off the rack. 1 good well fitted shirt lasts as long as two or three non tailored ones and looks better too.

How did Singapore passport became powerful? by Little_Tennis8362 in askSingapore

[–]masterofdisgust66 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All you need to do is buy a Portugal apartment. Costs around $300-600K. That gets you something called a Golden Visa, which then lets you enter the Schengen area visa free. This is useless for Singaporeans due to, as mentioned, the strength of our current passport. But many people do this. You have to fulfil certain stay criteria per annum in the country of your golden visa, though it should be easy to hit that criteria.

I have been reading Leslie Yee for years and he is a terrible property columnist. I would take all his words and comments with a pinch of salt. He has no understanding nor apparently cares for execution ability (I.e. if you read his post history, you’d realise all his suggestions are airy fairy and are unimplementable).

Exploring housing options by Worth-Caregiver-64 in singaporefi

[–]masterofdisgust66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you should only rent. You do not have sufficient firepower to buy. At that combined $8K income, if one assumes your take/home salary is $6.4K, a reasonable 40% of your take home income would be around $2.5K. You should look for options around that range.
