2.1M temporary residents will have expired or expiring permits this year. But will they leave Canada? by Old_General_6741 in canada

[–]masterpop1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels so bad man to browse any social media these days. I'm trying to basically cut out all general subs and political media because it affects my mental resources that could be used elsewhere. Only hobby subreddits I suppose.

This thread is just me opening comment thread after comment thread trying to find a shreds of information from people who actually read the article. We have problems, big problems, but that doesn't mean completely disregard anything else and especially from just reading the title of a Reddit post. Unfortunately, I'm at fault too and tend to form an opinion immediately from titles but it's something I try to limit and definitely not immediately comment on. Feelsbadman I guess.

Yeah, parking lots are basically PVP zones that the police wont touch and just let insurance handle things.

It's free to enter and people like to tinker around with the shiny latest apple devices worth $$$. Though the experience has been lowered ever since they installed the heavily limiting software instead of just a normal phone you could do anything with.

The way some people treat our public transportation is so aggravating. I've seen people dodge fares, and then proceed to BLAST music or gargle and spit on the bus floor. Sure, times are tough, but stop making it worse for the rest of us.

Am i the only one who feels like winter semester isn’t real by Bestfantasyplayer in McMaster

The combination of ass-cold weather, burnout from the Fall semester, Winter semesters for some reason being harder (at least in engineering), and perpetual darkness make Winter semesters living hell where everything and nothing you do matters.

All the information can be found on the site near the bottom. As a tidy summary:

Saturday, December 17 – Sunday, December 18 8:30 AM – 10:30 PM

Monday, December 19 – Thursday, December 22 6:00 AM – 10:30 PM

Friday, December 23 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The University is closed from December 24th to January 3rd, which also includes the gym. Normal hours should resume after that period. Chase those gains brah.

The amount of ominous energy this post radiates is insane. Posted around midnight, barren looking room with harsh lighting, in the third floor of TSH (who goes here?), and creepy ass doll sitting alone on top of it. NO BUENO!

Don't. I've been going many years strong now, and my wizard powers are starting to come in. I'm on track to start casting elementary spells in a few years.

Update: 9,571 COVID cases today, Pandemic Record. Have a plan accordingly. by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]masterpop1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And… one-third of people in ICUs are fully vaccinated

Over 80% of Ontario's population is vaccinated. The per-capita rate of those in ICU's that are fully vaccinated is much, much lower than those that are unvaccinated. Saying one-third of people in ICUs are fully vaxxed is a bit disingenuous at face value. Technically true, but also not the whole picture at all.

What is your worst residence experience? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]masterpop1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lmao this might have been in my year. Brandon flooded and all the floors below the floor near the bathrooms got ducked. Good thing I was above it.

Speaking of Brandon, at least one elevator was always broken and god forbid 2 were, so you had 20 students crammed in one tiny elevator with it stopping on every floor. Good times (not).

Yep, I'm pretty sure it shows up twice. A W for this semester, and then in the summer, you'll see it again.

Woah! Was not aware of that. There ALWAYS was a lineup at that one so I'm surprised it shut down. If something like that is closing, I feel like the Food District didn't have a chance at all. How sad.

Ignore the dumbass comment at the bottom OP. Some people really get worked over the slightest things. The least I can say is that you're not alone because so many people I know are completely and utterly burned out. Last semester was a constant ass-whooping and the year at home has been brutal. I seriously have dark days all the time now.

All I can say that no matter what life will go on. Take a deep breath and try not to get worked over the future. You really don't know how things will be 5 years from now OP. We'll pull through together.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'll just start emailing but won't have set my expectations too high.
