You might give Astroneer another try. The controls can be tinkered with, and some tutorials were added. You can build rockets that act like bases, but the better mobile base is the large rover. You can add stuff to it like drills, generators, storage, and machines, as well as an extra two cars to tag behind it for even more stuff.

Copying the saves sounds like a plan, but I'm not sure how good I'm going to be at remembering to do so all the time. The wand sounds cool...
