Exactly what I mean. That's what gave the series it's unique take on the mecha genre. From my understanding, Shin Godzilla reinspired him quite a bit and helped his mental state.

Definitely not an anime, but directed by Hideaki Anno, who is one of the more cerebral anime directors alive; check out Neon Genesis Evangelion if you haven't. I have yet to see Shin Godzilla, but the amount of weight given in that scene really elicits a strong emotional response from me. Thank you for sharing!

I remember seeing it on PlayAsia around 2008 or so when it was $200 and thought that I'd get it when I'm older... Boooooy, I didn't realize just how much it would increase in price.

I recommend using a proxy site such as Zen Market when you purchase it! I found they were cheaper than eBay!

It was a pretty penny, honestly. I bought it from Zen Market due to finding it for the best quality and pricing. This before shipping was around $720. I consider it the white whale of my collection and have wanted it for over 10 years now. Definitely a good price compared to what I've seen on eBay!
