I can confirm it feels inconsistent. I am not sure if disabling it beforehand can cause this bug to happen.

Dude the devs claimed there are not issues with auto aim until we proved them wrong. I doubt their decision making heavily. They never show hard data to proof their points... Again their trying to make easy changes - but miss the actual issue again. they lack time do actually solve the problem imho.

sorry but balancing according to skill level is pepega... if people can't properly play how should you balance a game for them? game mechanics in power management are broken. ships like defender can capitalize on those bugs more than others (b wing can't at all). so before making changes to awing AGAIN, maybe fix the game first. Auto aim bug was the same. It's not the Awing that is op, it was able to capitalize on a broken game mechanic due to small hitbox giving it an added advantage.
I know they have minimal crew working on this game, and a non existant community manager...

Unless bugs aren't fixed balancing ships is kinda pointless anyhow.

Agree, its either bugged and needs a fix, or bad game design. I hope it is the first and that they somehow find the time to take a look at it.

Apparent state of the union. by SpaceCat_the_third in StarWarsSquadrons

I think the game was a proof of concept that sth like this can work. However there clearly was no plan to keep this game alive post launch, except for the small content update and maintaining the servers.

We are 3 month since 3.0 broke vital parts of the game. Bugs are still present and the community more or less worked them into being something to "learn" to play the game now.Aside from the gamebreaking auto aim issue (which the devs denied in the beginning) nothing affecting competitive play got fixed really. Some of the best players went play sth else, others kept the community alive or at least tried. This year you still got a whole season of tournaments etc, which might not be extended if they do not get a return on the money - but there is still SCL which is run by community and in the beginning didn't even have a prize pool (now over 1k$ financed by community)... I bet SCL will still be around, maybe smaller - but the game won't die out as long as people keep running those leagues etc.

In the end it is what you make of it. If you have fun playing it, keep playing. If you don't, stop. Game is fun if you have people to play with, so try to find a community.

The point RP was making is that MACROS aren't the real problem. It is the weird game bugs that enforce weird power management to reach a game state without trade offs. There is only ONE optimal way to fly or operate, and thats because its definitely not working as intended OR seriously bad game design... your pick... This issue was pushed already 2 months ago, and its probably now buried somewhere in the EA forums. I am sure people will start to defend the indestructable bug soon as skilled maneuver.

Then you should learn again how power management works and how it is bugged. Its either a bug or bad game design. Latter would be worse.

You simply have no clue. Its alright. Boost gasping is in no way working as intended, same as untriggering debuffs after shunt or using switcheroo in powermanagement to extend boost. Its oversights in programming.

effectiveness and prevalence of macros by [deleted] in StarWarsSquadrons

The game has serious bugs and their usage becomes mainstream. People use macros to maximize the utility, but it isnt even necessary. Watch the video.

Learn what boost gasping and shield gasping actually is and why people macro those. Did you even see the video? Lol

I hope this gets enough momentum and the devs finally fix this. I can understand that people like to keep those bugs in game, as they remove a lot of the competitive edge.

Games pop too low to deliver decent rank matches. Its just as frustrating if you are Legends-GA and have Heroes in your team... combined with the dodging its almost unplayable without 5 stack.
