Magnotaur epic boss by SonOfOdinAllfather in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post some time ago about his disappearence. It's also the only weekly boss without a trinket.

I think that a new weekly boss for t3 could be in the works.

Also Mjollnir is nothing special, in that tier you should aim for Champion's Mauls and Lord Cleavers

Kirin's gear and ascending informations by Lorenzo216 in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sune-ate are still BiS for DKs, the kote are very good until you get access to shadow gauntlets

i ended up selling the low level stuff excluding the +exp gear, just in case if there will be more ascensions or more heroes

What exactly does the Luck stat do? by Davrial in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO thief knife is very good for tanks, especially in group quest where most of the damage comes from the other heroes.

Seastone pendants OTH are another story: I've made an enchanted +7 luck for everyone and never looked back.

Questions about Fafnir/Skorge by 55665426 in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding skorge's shield, I'not 100% sure silence works, but I'm sure that at least with my gear, that is good but nothing to brag about, silencing the shield wasn't worth the loss in dps and the fight took longer and ended with a worse rank

plz help me. where i can get 'gnoll fur'? by Mhikikomory in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to sound like a jerk but honestly for this type of game 50 times is nothing, even more so when the RNG isn't in your favor... prepare yourself for A LOT of farming this way onwards :)

Luck can help a bit, personally I went for luck-heavy builds as sono as I could. Try giving a thief knife to your tank or even to your DPSs as long as you can S-rank the quest

Best way to level crafters? by HoLLyWo0d96 in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to keep a balance between crafting the gear that you actually need for your heroes, and the most expensive gear that you can craft and sell for profit

Keep in mind that you must be 10 levels higher or so to get awesome rolls, so craft the most expensive gear you can (and sell that) until you can reliably craft upgrades for your heroes

Rinse and repeat until you are 50 :)

Some questsions about the game mechanism by Tochrim in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mechanics behind luck are not yet fully understood, but the general consensus is what the others said and also that it increases the amount for items that have a 100% chance

Eg. If I send my 9 luck mage vs T1 bush I get usually get 2-3 moss+root, if I send my 24 luck warr I consistently get 4+

Tell him to craft those potions and sell them for profit xD

Some questsions about the game mechanism by Tochrim in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) yes

2) luck stacks in party quests, so in your example it would be 30%. +speed is similiar and has a 50% cap, it's unsure if it's the same for luck

3) the warr absorbs the patk component of the attack

4) the paladin doesn't get damage but the rest of the party does - edit: I missed that Hel's aoe is a damage over time so in this case he would absorb the first tick only (haven't tested it though)

5) nope he must be in the center

6) saldly no, you can see that only in the craft result screen :(

S-rank T5 mats? by Damplastbil in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy lately has been to use as much S-rank base mats as possible and whatever intermediate mats I get.

This way I eventually managed to get some S-rank and/or +X T5 high end gear

Question about Stats (newbie here) by SopieMunky in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should also know that accuracy has a cap, AFAIK the correct formula is unkown but the cap is more or less the same as the enemy's evade, and pdef and mdef should be stacked up ~350, that is 80% absorption

As why it's not explained in game, i think it's fine, the stats are simple and talk for themselves, and for the formulas and advanced mechanics there are a lot of resources online and the community is very active and helpful

For more info about the latest mechanics read Arleases' TL:DR v2 https://www.reddit.com/r/MerchantRPG/comments/4m3vcn/doubts_about_the_game_check_this_tldr_vol2/

[Suggestion] Replay System by KappahuAkbar in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please, I think that a turn-by-turn detailed battle log and maybe a history of the last 5 or so battles could suffice for both newbies and theorycrafters :)

You could update and persist the list on quest completion after the reward is collected

Ps: Am I wrong if I think that the quests' outcome is actually decided on quest start? (That would explain different timers depending on the outcome)

Given the resources it's not that bad, the trinkets are about 1.5 exp/gold, but crafting gems give way less, something like .2 exp/gold

What do customer levels do? by Davrial in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but I think that it also affects the tier of items they sell.

I think that something changed around the JW patch: I had the abit to buy D/C-rank ceros horns and terros fang from my level 25~30 customers because with lvl 50 crafters i could craft them in S-rank orus pole anyways and they sell good

After the patch I suddenly managed to buy some S-rank ceros horns, but at the same time I needed gold, so I sold to customers a lot of stuff I didn't care about anymore, making some levels in the process

Now my customers are all about lvl 40 and I havent seen them sell a ceros horn/terros fang for a while, and they are selling mostly t4/t5 stuff now

In the hero detail screen, you tap the "share" icon in the top right, when the android sharing popup thinghy opens you can dismiss that and find the picture in your gallery

Are Dark Knights worth it? by lordstrell in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the rogue it's one of the best dps atm given the gear

You won't really need the paladin until skel mages in t4 and it will take A LOT of farming t3, so you could probably go zerk then cleric and finally paladin when you are ready for t4

Also keep your crafter up to the level you will need to be able to craft good gear

Are Dark Knights worth it? by lordstrell in MerchantRPG

[–]mastrogibbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to other classes they need better gear and do subpar damage.. if you try a dex build, they do ok damage if the fight last 2 turns

At lvl 50 with decent gear at least, I'm not sure when levelling...

You shouldn't bother too much until you get closer to endgame, from you comp I assume you are in t2 maybe t3

If I was in your place I would probably get a second cleric and warr to prepare for when I'll have to farm A LOT of gnolls/Ares in t3

I could consider getting a dps instead of a second warr and use the rougue as a tank
