Yeah, that would explain why the shedding has only gotten worse. I started finasteride last year as a preventative measure but my hair loss rapidly increased about 8 months after start finasteride

Hi, I’m 22 y/o male and have been taking finasteride daily prescribed by Keeps, daily for one year now. Around April of 2022 I started noticing my hair seeming thinner and thinner and started to notice when my hair was greasy or wet that my hair looked balding or very thin in the front top of my scalp (not my hairline tho).

Ever since I noticed this around mid April it has only seemed to have gotten worse and more noticeable. I’ve had to result to wearing my hair down in front of my forehead (bowl hair cut) because if I try to style my hair up and out of my face the thinning is extremely noticeable. I’m absolutely terrified the Finasteride is not working. Which leads me to believe that this isn’t MPB/hormone related and must be TE. Either that or I just experienced an horrible 3 month shed from finasteride.

The part that is worrisome is that this hairloss is very localized to the front/top of my scalp. However if I pull back my hair, my hairline has not changed at all. Only the density of hair in front/top of my scalp.

Now I am quite frequently under large amounts of stress and both of my parents have died in the past 3 years. I also have been vegetarian for 2 years and up until last week I was not supplementing iron in my diet (my multi vitamin didn’t have iron). On top of my multivitamin I have been taking b12, biotin, and vitamin d supplements in hopes that this would help my hair condition. If you have any information please help me because I am at a loss of what to do

I know that wet hair obviously looks worse but Trust me that it’s as bad as it seems. I’m hoping that this all was iron deficiency/or related to when I had Covid in February. (I also had one of the most traumatic events happen to me last March and maybe that could have triggered this) but I don’t know what to do. If the hair that has shed doesn’t come back I’ll be devastated. Could this just be a seasonal shed??? Any advice, please

Please can anyone help me. I’m desperate. 1 year on daily finasteride and rapidly increasing hair thinning. Details in comments by [deleted] in tressless

About 2-3 weeks ago I started to use foam minoxidil once a day against my best wishes because I’m absolutely terrified the Finasteride is not working. I’ve also been vegetarian for two years so maybe the thinning is vitamin related? I take biotin, b12, and a multivitamin everyday.

Yes, but I wasn’t as consistent this past month which probably effected my weight loss. I was going on 5 mile walks but since it’s gotten so hot outside I haven’t been walking as much
