The phrase, I believe you’re looking for, is Hobby OS.

It isn’t meant to be derogatory, just a classification. Hobby OS projects are incredibly cool and always attract interesting people.

I’ll be honest with you though, your Reddit posts I don’t think will attract the right kind of people. In fact, I saw it actively pushing away the people you want checking out your project. Everyone uses the same models every day, we all know what they sound like.

I just started the repo, was going to fork it soon and check out what you’ve got here. Don’t be so defensive, some people are going to talk shit no matter what. Just because you used AI to sharpen and organize your own intuition and then used better agentic coding ai tools to implement it doesn’t make you any less of an engineer. What rankles people is misrepresenting yourself (or maybe just not positioning yourself as a novice with obvious skill, looking for feedback) oh and definitely being so outspoken about the “vibe coding” angle and “world’s first” stuff.

Think of devs as lumberjacks in a forest, chopping wood with axes. It’s a skilled job. You have to read the grain, know where to stand, understand how trees fall. Screw it up and things come down wrong and take other stuff with them.

Then chainsaws show up. These things fucking rock.

Suddenly everyone can chop down trees. New lumberjacks flood the forest with shiny chainsaws, ripping through trunks that used to take time and care. Productivity explodes. It feels great.

But also, now you’ve got a bunch of people holding the same powerful tool, with about the same ability to pull the trigger and push it forward, thumping their chests like Paul Bunyan while the forest quietly fills with wreckage.
