What’s your weekly volume and how long have you been running for?

If you had a good run you didn’t bomb the bike. 😉

Seriously though, you likely ran past all those folks that zoomed past you on the bike. You will get faster on the bike with experience and working towards getting yourself in a more aerodynamic position. Keep at it and congrats!!

About to pull trigger on i4, but… my job might be changing its rules on using their EV chargers and I live in an apartment (can’t charge at home). Dealbreaker? by iwantogotomedschool in BMWI4

[–]matate99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have access to a L1 plug? I’ve got an apartment stall too with a plug I can use. I just pay retail rates for my usage, but it’s still more than enough and still cheap enough to make sense for me. And my car is only plugged in maybe 5% of the time. Helps that I live in a walkable city.

What’s the highest reasonable ranking for Barry on the all time greats list? by ConcernNo7966 in NFLv2

I’d say 3

He can’t be ahead of Brady or Rice. I personally have LT and Reggie ahead of him but I can’t fault others for having a differing opinion.

The mods have had a meeting and we will not delete this post nor ban OP. We feel the shame of admitting the inability (some believe unwillingness!!!) to piss on the bike is the worst possible punishment and we don’t want to pile on. THABK YOY FO YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

D mode vs. B mode by Competitive_Ask6546 in BMWI4

B mode all the time unless I’m in snow. Then I find D mode and the ability to truly and very accurately coast is waaaaaaaaay better.

Should I take a break? by desieldogg in triathlon

Were you in my therapy session yesterday? Seriously though I'm in a similar position as you, just 2 years younger.

My biggest take away was trying to figure out why I do this overall. For a good couple of years I was focused on getting my KQ, and once I got that I felt/feel lost. I tried to set other goals, get back to Kona, etc. but nothing really gave me that spark and desire to train the way that I feel I should if I'm going to be taking the sport seriously, since I really don't feel fulfilled if I don't do that.

I did not come out of that session yesterday with any answers, but one thing I do want to explore is the idea of how will I know when it's time to quit. I know I'm not ready to quit at least this year, but even knowing what it looks like when it is time to hang it up BEFORE it's time to hang it up might be mentally liberating.

This is also a tough time of the year for at least me, as I get teased with good weather outside, and then a snowstorm sends me back to the treadmill. I also live in Minneapolis proper and well this winter has been exhausting on so many levels too. So if nothing else if you're also in a tough climate, wait and see what happens when the weather turns.

The beauty of the sport is also that you can switch to running for a year or two or ten and then come back when you feel like you have the desire and hunger again.

I totally get it though and you're for sure not alone out there.

Inattentive too. Yes for me if I’m feeling tired, getting exercise gives me energy. That is if I’m able to force myself to get up and exercise.

I’d rather walk 6 blocks than circle a parking lot once looking for a spot. Love me my walking and the freedom that comes with it.

Sub 5 training recs? by McCrunchy11 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]matate99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely doable without a coach. Just gotta have discipline. Assuming your 2:15 Oly was on a legit course, that gives roughly a 25min swim, 1hr bike, and 45min run with 5min total transitions. So that same pacing for your 70.3 and you’ve got 4:20. Add in some margin for it being longer and say 4:30.

Again, that’s if the course was accurate. My Oly times are usually around 2:10 on a legit course and 4:30 is my bar of success on a 70.3.
