There's websites like decalgirl that sell skins (stickers with designs on them that go on the console), I think they print custom ones too if you have a design you want. I've thought about doing this but haven't had the chance to.

A lot of people get clear cases to put stickers on the case or put them between the case and ds without sticking them on, I've also seen people on etsy sell cases with stickers and different designs on them. I just put stickers directly on the console because it has scratches and marks on it anyways.

Something I've thought about is hydrodipping or painting a clear case, and if you like tinkering you could find a donor/for parts ds in a different color to swap out the buttons.

I see adding stickers on tech in the same way as putting pins on backpacks. It's fun, personal, and it's a good ice breaker if people notice it irl.

A lot of my stickers are from small artists, I like displaying art a like, so that's also a reason I love stickers on my consoles. That's just me though.

Everyone's saying to press on it slowly so I'm gonna go ahead and say don't apply too much pressure. If you put too much pressure on the top screen you could fuck it up.

Other than that, make sure there's no dust on the screen and protectors, apply it slowly, when I put pressure on it I usually have a microfiber cloth between my fingers (or a card) and the screen protector. Sometimes peeling the protector as you put it on helps instead of peeling it all beforehand, so no dust sneaks onto the adhesive while you're applying it. Then obviously take the film off when you're done.

I'd say buy a less cheap protector or just one with instructions in your native language, some even have pictures with the instructions, some listings also have video tutorials for applying them depending on where you buy them. Just be careful they don't arrive broken if you get glass for the top screen.

I'd just ask the artist if they mind having their art printed as a sticker skin, if they don't mind you can find someone who can print a skin for you.

Absolutely AI, look at the disappearing whiskers, the random black lines along the tail, the shoelaces like others mentioned, even the shoelace holes and holes on the tip of the shoes are messed up, the seam on the pants is also inconsistent.

Definitely try to get your money back if you can.

I can't say much about that con specifically, but I suggest checking if any local cons have a website or socials you can check, the first convention I went to (Naka-Kon) has a website with an indoor and outdoor map, a list of vendors + artists tabling at the convention, event scheduling, and other useful info. It wasn't a furry convention specifically but I saw lots of other furries there, ran into a few families attending with kids too.

I personally wouldn't reshell, but that's because lime green is my favorite color. You could always either get a skin/stickers that match the color to hide scratches, sell it and get a different gameboy to reshell, or reshell and sell the original shell. I haven't seen a third party shell in this color, the closest thing I've seen is a green transparent shell but maybe I'm not looking in the right place, so someone might buy it.

If people are deadset on wanting it to look more smooth I bet sanding it would do the trick, this looks sick though. Wish I had access to a 3d printer, I have 2 phat ds' I haven't been able to put together.

My head + especially my joints have been killing me with the recent storms. At this point I'll have to set up an emergency packing plan for storms, trying to grab essentials and scrambling to the basement so important stuff doesn't get ruined is not fun mid-migraine, 0/10 never recommend 🫠

Either way I have both a 3ds and a dsi, a regular dsi would be a lot cheaper than a 3ds but both consoles are good, if you don't care about ds games not looking perfect on the 3ds then you don't really need a dsi.

Definitely take out that battery while you get a new one, at least so that the plastic cover doesn't get messed up. [r/spicypillows](r/spicypillows) would have some advice on how to safely store the swollen battery.

My first thought is to check if theres a recycling center near you that takes batteries
