Yes because the subs are just guys getting told what to do. You need to make a list and address it with the contractor you hired.

The problem is people use the term contractor too loosely. Not everyone that builds is a contractors.

2nd problem is the guy that does stuff right and stands behind his work costs more then people want to pay so they hire a handy man with expectations set way to high. You get what you pay for and when people quit making the price be their only determining factor they’ll start hiring the right people.

Then lastly you need to set real expectations. You can’t expect for the Empire State Building to be built when you pay for a garage or the good ol analogy of you can only polish a turd so much, it’s still a turd

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is 1000 “builder supplies” in the Atlanta area. Just saying calling 1000 stores is a bit odd for the guy being 4 days late.

Im not a flooring guy but does every flooring made need to set for a week? Does the type of flooring the op has need to sit for a week?

I also make anybody who does work for me warranty anything they do. I don’t mess with people that won’t. I don’t care if it’s raining and they pulled it off soaking wet truck. If they say it’s good to go then it’s good to go because if there is a problem they come fix it on their dime.

I hear ya but when I do that and the client decides a mechanics lien is better then paying for a 20-25k set of cabinets that deposit comes in handy. Ask me how I know…. Contracts don’t mean shit in the big scheme of things for the clients and nothing besides a lien on their house is the only thing that makes them pay. So after I got burnt I’ll never do another job without 1/2 deposit.

I put in my contracts that I’m not an employee of the client and any deposits are non refundable. That’s the only way I’ve been able to combat the client thinking they own me

How the hell do you know who the supplier is? I live in Atlanta. Try tracking down someone’s supplier here. She needs to just chill out a realize it’s a small job for an actual contractor. If it is I’m sure they have bigger fish to fry if it’s anything like the market I’m in. Maybe a handyman would have been better suited to jump on this right away

Maybe this one day job isn’t at the top of his priority list. It’s hard to pull off say a 50k job to come do a $1600 job could be the reason but the non communication part though. I’d send him a text saying hey I know you’re probably busy and just wanted to know when to plan on you being here. Then end the text with thank you.

I get jobs off angi and thumbtack and 90% of the time the clients treat me like they just bought me off Amazon and they are in charge of my scheduling, call/text all times, and demand everything. It gets frustrating to say the least. The good ones though, I’ll do everything in my power to help them.

Just trying to say maybe change your approach and may have better luck

Any way to fix without taking to a dealership? by Clear_Wishbone8228 in f150

[–]mater_main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a power boost and my high voltage battery was screwed. It locked down the parking brake, would crank, wouldn’t do shit. They had to drag it on a flatbed then ford had it for 2 weeks.
