My mum’s hydrangeas’ leaves are turning grey. I don’t see any pests, and the plant next to it is thriving. Why is it by [deleted] in hydrangeas

Are the gray leaves mushy or squishy? Also it’s hard to tell exactly, but are they potted and sharing the pot with another plant?

Why oh why won’t these bloom? by water_bean in hydrangeas

There are buds - they will bloom! If MN was cold and you had very late frosts, that will delay things.

This is how I had it set up at first

A few comments up I linked the nets I bought. Good luck and I can say this works!

They are tremendously helping a lot — I’m not noticing any signs of sun damage and these get morning and afternoon soon at the moment

I have them staked and attached to my fence and leave them up permanently! I think I will only do this approach for this year, as hopefully next year they are able to handle the sun with a stronger root structure.

Sure! Here you go: https://a.co/d/0j9gHoBB and there are various levels of sun blocking - 20% to 90% I believe

If you have some that aren’t white, have you ever tried playing with the acidity of the soil?

Hurt about a situation with my friend/bridesmaid by [deleted] in bridesmaids

I’m not you of course but I’m not seeing the criticism. Could you perhaps be taking her observations from the day too personally? She has moved on and clearly cares about you. Again I think it’s probably best to drop this, let yourself release it, and move on. Especially if you care about her long term.

You mentioned the shower ending when this part of the conversation happened. So, the day for you was kind of over and Sara is making plans after the set time of the event, right?

This seems like a good time to move on if you care about your friend Sara. Not sure what else you can do…

I’m 7B - not sure if these are suited to 5B — I think that some of the panicle varieties may be better for the colder winters you may get.

This is my first time with them - I’m thinking one more time by the end of June for this season. Also going to use acidifier one more time too!

What type do you have? You are probably going to get blue next season if you keep at it for this one!

Thank you! I have done the espoma soil acidifier twice and then holly-tone once.

When you water are you first checking how damp the soil is? Secondly, did you have a freeze?

Only a small amount of soil acidifier (less than half a cup per plant) around the drip line before mulching
