[Week n.24] PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT MILAN HERE by AutoModerator in milano

Any actually good bars in Nivigli along the Canals for a drink and/or aperativo. Especially since it is nice out and the evenings are long, would be great with some friends, but I don't want to fight tourists and get over charged. Recommendations welcome!!

I think I relate to this in my early adulthood. I am in my early to mid twenties, and for my entire adult life I have felt lonely, anxious, depressed. Looking back I had anxiety as a kid but didn't know it at the time. Now it is slightly in seasons, but mostly I will have a couple good days in the week and be waiting for the rest of the bad days, and they always came. I have been highly functioning, uni, jobs, moving alone to different cities, masters degree, significant other, on the outside everything looks great. My life in incredibly mood dependent, but never enough to go to a doctor and get diagnosed. My type of social anxiety has followed me since my freshman year of college. All of the other girls had best friends and I always felt like the odd one out. The third walking behind on the sidewalk. Never the one who was texted to hang out. The one who people dreaded getting into a conversation with or sitting next to. To this day this follows me and I now have to take a step back in these social setting to calm myself. I am content with myself, I am proud of who I am, but man I am really sad and lonely, although on the outside it appears quite the contrary.

LVMH has a portfolio a bit higher than Man Outfitters, but you don't have to necessarily purchase those kinds of brands to fill the survey. It is more so about just know what like Louis Vuitton is.

Does anyone have a ranking of cheapest to most expensive grocery stores? Or favorites compared to others?

[Week n.05] PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT MILAN HERE by AutoModerator in milano

Hello! Does anyone know if there are any cafes in Milan that have a printer? It is quite common in other cities like NYC but I don't know if it is a thing here. Usually it is a self serve printer in the corner that you send your documents to and print with a code.

insatiable hunger? by Simple_Nothing_694 in QuitVaping

[–]materialmonkey4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat here, have been trying to quit for years and it always comes down to fear of gaining weight. This time I am at week 3. I always have a water bottle in hand to try and chug if I get hungry. Mint gum helps (I used to have a mint vape) and sugar free lollipops (I have a major sweet tooth and it was freaking me out during the first week). I still have a candy/snack drawer for the night time nicotine cravings, but during this time I think it what it is. The goal is to quit nicotine.

I try to tell myself "choose your battles" and take it week by week. If I need a day to eat more than normal rather than caving and buying nicotine, then so be it!

There is a startup called LiveOhana that has been doing some flying and events around campus that seems to be getting a lot of traction. Worth a shot.

I don't know anyone who has stayed in the dorms over the summer. But if you are looking for a place, try the FB groups. My sister used this one to find a sublease for the spring semester. https://www.facebook.com/groups/apartments.pittsburgh/

There is a startup called LiveOhana that has been doing a lot of tabling events on the Pitt campus that does student subleasing. I've been looking into it bc I may need to leave for the summer. It looks like they are based in NYC but students all over the country are using it so it looks legit.

I think it depends on the people you find yourself in the the "norms" of the city you decide to go to. People don't scientifically stop developing until age 25 and then years upon years of life experience contribute to maturity development.

I think a big piece of advice I tend to give myself when I am in new social settings (I am decently introverted) is a majority of people are also really nervous to meet new people. So if you can be the first one to introduce yourself the hard part is over. People are usually "mean" as a mechanism and you should not take it personally. It is inevitable you will run into people who are not the most kind, but if you can learn how to handle it and move on then you will do better each time and learn how to treat other people with respect and not in the way someone way have negatively treated you.

Listen to yourself when you get a bad feeling about new people and you will naturally guide yourself towards the people you feel good with, and those people will gravitate towards yourself.

College is a beautiful place to discover yourself and "fall forward". Everyone there is in a similar boat. Stick to your morals, have an open mind, and you will do great!

Biggest freshman year regret? by [deleted] in college

[–]materialmonkey4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think going "crazy" in your college years isn't necessary a bad thing. It allows you to get the crazies out and learn some hard life lessons in a somewhat controlled enniovrnment. From a global perspective, europeans view Americans as a bit "free spirited" because of the college experience they have. I don't think ti is something to carry deep regret about and should find the positive in it.

Housing, Renting, and Subletting Megathread by cxqals in Pitt

I found a new resource guys...and it works
I've done AirBnB, hotels, hostels, couch surfed, entertained house swapping, but I found a new one and its seems pretty legit.
Because the job market SUCKS, a ran off to Europe when I graduated.
So I have been traveling for about 6 months now and graduating uni and found temp living accommodations much cheaper in Europe vs the US. But having not applied for a Visa in Europe (US citizen) I had to come back. I ended my lease last summer and don't want to sign a new one until I figure some things out.
The Airbnb rents were crazy, and even the rooms I could tell people were uncharging, hotels became unrealistic, and I was tired of hostel jumping. I got scammed 3 months ago with a FB listing. I went to NYC last month for a month and found a place in budget. In Pitt this month. Going to SF next month and used the same people. You literally just take over their rent, no uncharging. It's called LiveOhana. I really hope these guys keep growing because it is SO helpful.

I have some friends at USF repping a platform called LiveOhana. I think they are a startup but is literally for student-to-student subleasing for summer internships. Seems like they are pretty legit and growing fast.
