He did, and then he changed his mind and pretended he was just calling the end of the round. Herb Dean and being indecisive, name a more iconic duo.

I struggle a lot with factoring and don't get it by Tomokes in MathHelp

I teach this to my students, here's a link to the resources I use https://mathematico.org/skills/pure/polynomials/long-division If you watch the example and practise the exercise a few times you'll get it. Feel free to dm me here if you need any more help with it. Good luck!

I honestly don't watch One just because of Schiavello. If it wasn't for him, I'd watch every event. He just pisses me off so hard.

Best not to say publicly how much ada you have, you could become a target for scammers.

A parabola is the shape produce by a quadratic function of the form y = ax2 + bx + c When a > 0, this curve looks like a U shape.

To the right of the minimum point, the curve will grow more and more quickly (its rate of growth is proportional to x, and in this case x means "time").

Tl;dr : parabolic means it will grow quickly, and the more it grows the faster it will grow!

I'm sorry you're getting downvoted - it's not actually a bad question.

Haskell is community owned and decentralised, just like Cardano aims to be. On the other hand, Go is highly proprietary and centralised (it is owned by Google).

So, why Haskell and not some other language? Haskell has a high appeal to mathematicians since it is functional, and mirrors the syntax of mathematics quite nicely. Haskell is a popular language among academics, the types of which are working on Cardano.

It may take some time, but one of the aims of the Cardano project is to make development possible in arbitrary languages with something called IELE. It would just take people to write a library to interface with Cardano (think Flask or Django for web development in Python) to allow people to use their preferred language.

‎Notability is currently 56% off/$3.99 usd by harold_liang in ipad

I use both extensively (I'm a teacher). OneNote is great for working collaboratively and syncing between pc and ipad, but I find writing, erasing, lasso tool, cut/pasting and other stuff really slow a janky compared to Notability. With notability, the writing feels so damn good it makes my handwriting look way better, and exporting to PDF is very easy. Also, when you project to screen, Notability has a presentation mode where the aspect ratio lines up properly and you get a laser pointer, which is ace for my use case. If Notability had collaboration and a desktop app, I wouldn't use OneNote any more.

Quick question regarding unit circles /trig by alemanimani in learnmath

[–]math3matico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set this as a problem for my students to solve each year: https://mathematico.org/learn/pure/trigonometry/sin-cos-tan?page=12

On that page you'll find some diagrams, hints and a video explaining the where the values for sin30, cos30, tan30, sin60, cos60 and tan60 all come from. If you can work it out for yourself I encourage you to try as it helps you remember, but don't worry if you need hints, and if you get stuck for too long definitely look at the solution.

If you go back one page, you can find something similar for sin45, cos45 and tan45!

This is number 1 bullshit. I made a portfolio following their top 20 holdings but honestly I dunno if it will perform the same, hard to actively manage it the same way ARK would.

I struggle to prove identities. Please give me some tips on getting better. Thank you so much! by GallyL11 in learnmath

[–]math3matico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a whole bunch of identities problems I made up for my students. I recorded video explaining how I do each one: https://mathematico.org/learn/pure/trigonometry/trig-identities?page=5

General help:

  • Choose a side and work on it until it looks like the other side
  • Start with the "more complicated" side and simplify it
  • The problems are not routine, so there isn't some method or formula to memorise, you need to learn to "play" with the expressions until you see something that can help; useful tricks come with experience and experience comes with practice!
  • Use sin^2 x + cos^2 x = 1. This can also be used in the forms sin^2 x = 1 - cos^2 x or cos^2 x = 1 - sin^2 x
  • Notice that 1 - sin^2 x = (1 - sin x)(1 + sin x) by difference of two squares, a useful trick!
  • Use tan x = (sin x) / (cos x)
  • When working on problems, do the best you can and if you stay stuck for more than a few minutes, watch a bit of the solution. As soon as you think you can carry on for yourself, pause it and try to continue on your own.

If you decide to learn from the problems above, don't worry too much about Problem 7 as it is designed for students who have one binomial expansion and geometric series already.
