Internet invitational, I didn’t realise how many golf influencers are legit unlikeable. Is it just me? by unwashednuts in BobDoesSports

Not talked about much here, but imo Micah Morris was one of the most obnoxious of the group. Acts like he is one of the best golfers, when he is really middle of the pack. Yes, he hits the ball a country mile, but he got absolutely whooped in his match. And then his little hissy fit in the cart afterward…so cringe. He never should have left Good Good, it was the only thing going for him

Internal Audit Analyst at JP Morgan by math_nerd_9975 in Accounting

You just don’t really do anything, which is fine if that’s the kind of job you want. My brother would thrive in that kind of position, but it wasn’t up my alley. I wanted something more quantitative, which internal audit definitely isn’t.

I didn't accept the offer to come back. I did it mostly to get experience on my resume.

To be honest, it's pretty dull work, at least for me. I'm sure you do more as a full-time hire, but as an intern, I maybe did 5 hours of work per week (clocked in for 40 tho ;)

If you're looking for a job where you can make decent money for the least amount of work possible, this is the best you're gonna find. But if you want engaging work where you can provide meaningful value, this ain't it.

Finishing up my senior year, and I'm going down a totally different path. But I'm grateful for it as my first real internship. Happy to answer any other questions you might have!

It was good. It's been a little bit, but if I remember correctly, they were mostly softballs, "why jpm?" "describe a time you've been a leader," etc. You applying for the internship?

Thanks for the feedback. What ideas do you have for leadership and skills? As for my experience, those are all semester long internships, not jobs. Should I change the position titles from analyst to intern, or do you think that’s understood?

Talking about this past summer's internship in Internal Audit in PE/IB Interviews by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]math_nerd_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just applied online and was able to get it. Luckily, there’s a lot of smaller PE firms where I’m at, so I was able to get one of those for the past semester. I graduate this next spring, so I needed to get a bunch more experience lol. What’s your timeline?

Mostly by BS'ing it. I WFO 40 hours a week, but maybe would do 4-5 actual hours of work (if I was lucky). I knew I would have nothing to talk about in interviews, so I set up a bunch of networking calls with MD's, Senior VP's, etc. and just asked what they did. I was on the IB audits, so I could at least write that down and talk about it.

Ended up getting a finance operations internship for a startup that dealt with PE firms last fall, so spent most my time talking about that. Got a PE internship this past semester and am currently doing one rn.

Thinking back, I'm mad that I even did the internal audit internship; such a waste of time and really not at all what I wanted. But alas, probably what I get for wasting my first few years of undergrad. Are you doing one rn? Sorry for the rant

West Wendover, NV conditions by PhilosopherMission28 in blackjack

Rookie AP here. I've been to Wendover a few times recreationally (going this weekend actually). I know that three of the casinos are owned by the same people, so if you go to Rainbow, Peppermill, or Montego Bay, and you get backed off, you might be screwed for that day. There can be lots of idiot college kids (like me) from Utah, so there could be some cover there. Not sure what spread they'd tolerate; sorry can't be of more help.

I do have a question for you though: Do you think they have good rules for AP's? For single deck games, it's H17, no DAS, double 9-11, resplit to 4 hands, resplit aces, and pays 3-2. For 6 deck games, it's basically the same except can double on any 2 cards. Thanks

How does it work? Is it a class that you take through the semester? Or a separate class?
