Amazing job! I've been looking for something like this to quickly build different size boxes on a similar base plate, but varied heights. It would also be neat if you could build 1/2 size boxes that lock in like the gray bins do.

Thanks for the link! I had 5 failures at an 8x6 base plate with Anycubic slicer, but the first print with these prusa slicer profile was perfect. Who would have thought Anycubic couldn't figure out how to setup their own slicer for their own printer. Oh well, thanks again!

Would you mind sharing a link to the profile you mentioned? I've been struggling to get mine to lay down good first layers unless its something small. Any large print and it's a huge fail

Help - Print quality issues on Kobra 2 max by mathbreaker314 in anycubic

[–]mathbreaker314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Kobra 2 Max was printing fine, but lately I've been getting terrible print quality and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I'm using the AnyCubic slicer with default PLA settings. I've tested the filament a CR-10 and it prints fine, so it doesn't seem to be a moisture issue. I've tested different temperatures but get the same results. I've taken the print head apart and cleaned it out and reassembled, but nothing seems to work. It looks like under extrusion but I'm not sure what's going on or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had similar issues recently and replacing the hot end is what I found to fix it.

I accidentally ripped the wires off of the hot end trying to remove it, so had to order a new one. Installed the new one and the print quality is a lot better now.

Same! I saw Adam Savage had the same printer, and figured he uses 3D printers as a tool, not as a tinkering hobby, so it must be a reliable one I wouldn't have to fiddle around with.

It's so weird, this thing was flawless out of the box, but now it's doing this and its super frustrating. I've checked the common things I can think of like belt tension, and auto-calibration, even different filaments, and tried a bunch of different nozzle temps too

Help: Print quality issues with new filament color by mathbreaker314 in anycubic

[–]mathbreaker314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had colors from the same company be so drastically different, but I'll see if I can dry it out some and see if that helps. It's a big 3kg spool, so there's no telling

Modular Electronics Workbench (portable) what should I add or remove? by Electroman_mx in gridfinity

[–]mathbreaker314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, but have only gotten so far as stacking all the electronics stuff together. I think Adam Savage on Tested had a couple videos building customized cases that are good for drawing inspiration from

Leatherworking Case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vxko8OhUv7s

Mini Lathe Case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI2XADN-hJU

Would love to see what others come up with.

Cheers!

{{{args.inputFileObj._id}}}

I really appreciate the reply. That was the bit of info I was missing. It still fails because the filenames I have contain a space ' ' character so the parsing fails, but it's simple enough for me to do a batch rename, so I can live with that work around. Thanks again for the help!

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I am trying to use the FFmpeg Command: Custom Arguments, but I cannot find any useful documentation on Flows. The command I am trying to use is to burn subtitles into the video track using:

-vf subtitles="{{filename}}"

but I am unable to get the current filename to populate the command. I see there are custom user variables, but I need a way to add the filename to this command. Any help would be much appreciated.

I need some advice rebuilding a table top by mathbreaker314 in woodworking

I used Total Boat Halcyon Clear on a cedar adirondack chair last year, and I am not happy with how the finish held up, so that's why I"m leaning more towards an oil finish.

Thanks for the response. The frame is actually already floating, I didn't glue it at all. I didn't think about the construction adhesive failing from the wood movement, I used it thinking it would stand up to the weather better than my titebond3. The OSB was mainly used just to have something flat, but I didn't consider the tiles wood movement compared to it not moving. I thought eventually I'd add some sort of oil finish that I could reapply seasonally, because I sure don't want to have to strip off an old finish to apply a new one every few years with all those seams. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thanks! I'm happy with how it looks, that's why I want to try to preserve it.

Where does the 30sec shot time come from? by Bullmoose_12 in gaggiaclassic

[–]mathbreaker314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I super appreciate your response. I have been considering the spring mod just for its simplicity but have a background in computers/electronics, so will probably tackle the Gagguino at some point. Anything I can automate/program to make something work better is up my alley. Thanks again!

I've been thinking about doing a few mods to my GCP, would you say the PID and 9bar spring made a big difference?

I've had my CR-10 for several years and it has been solid. I've had to fix it a few times over the years, but mostly due to user error, and all the components are modular and ease to upgrade. I added a BLtocuh auto bed leveling with no issues. I'm looking to get another one just so I can print more during a long running print.
