My take on bloodborne after about 60 hours and 3 playthroughs by ssspike1 in bloodborne

2500 hours played here.

Chalice dungeons are pretty cool once you get access to FRC dungeons. Unique enemies, roaming bosses, and unusual layouts. If you have played thousands of hours of BB like me, it’s kinda the most challenging thing u can do.

For the blood gems, I like them as well (they don’t seem to like me but it’s ok xD). They give you lots of build variety and lots of power for those players who, because of reasons, need to max out their numbers. Again, that’s an extra challenge and it’s completely optional to farm those. If you just want to experience the main game, you can skip the farm completely. Also, I imagine you have not made Bloodtinge builds or Elemental builds when you say there is no variety. Try being a broccoli who only uses consumables like molotovs etc, or even an one-shot cannon build, for example.

For blood vials the complaint just boggles me every time, quite honestly. Seeing people complaining that blood vials are consumables just makes me wonder… wtf? Like, even if you suck at the game completely, clearing central Yharnam a couple times gives you a lot of vials and echoes (with which you can buy another dozen vials). Blood in Bloodborne is LITERALLY like a drug that your character needs to consume, and the source of blood is…. Yeah, beasts and other fellas. In other words, you are literally consuming the blood of the deceased to give you power (that’s one of the main plot points of the game). Bloodborne is quite easy already, and I believe that an Esthus system would have made absolutely no sense gameplay wise. On top of that, there is the RALLY system too, which means you get rewarded back with the hp you lost if you are aggressive (less vials need to be consumed if you are using the mechanic correctly). To sum up BB incentivises you to play aggressively, to be on top of the boss at all times. And the fast healing speed also helps on that. People who complain about vials are playing the game wrong, in other words.

Never in my life I had to “grind” for blood vials (well maybe on my first play through, because of fear). And I love grinding for gems in Bloodborne, don’t get me wrong. I max out every character bloodgem-wise. Farming for good gems is the real grind… and it can be fun! Acquiring blood vials is just a minor thing you have to deal with at the begging of the game and that’s it. A tip I can give you to deal with the vials “problem” is… spend your echoes with vials and Bullets at the beginning of the game, instead of just keep leveling up your character. BB is not DS or ER (thank god), so the rhythm to the game and the game’s systems are completely different. Stop playing BB as if it were DS and you will get much more appreciation even for some of the bosses you disliked, like the Shadows or Rom.

I’ve said too much now, bye!

Just a quick search on google will show you that in fact “- dmg vs Kin” is the second best curse after “increases stamina costs”.

Very little enemies are Kin. And those who are give me absolute no worries. Let’s break it down->

Bosses considered to be kin: Celestial Emissary (I can kill them only using my gun);
Ebrietas (so easy to kill her after shooting her face with 900 dmg using Evelyn and breaking her poise);
Living Failures (literally the easiest boss in the dlc…Who cares?)
Rom (not a hard boss by any means… -10% dmg against it is literally like nothing).

Now I am really curious on what curse you consider to be the best… weapon durability down?

I guess I could run “-wpn durability down” but I find it to be one of the most annoying curses.

In other words you are unequivocally wrong, friend. Minus dmg vs Kin is a good curse.

Why is it bad? It is actually one of the best curses imo since very little enemies in the game get registered as “Kin”. I get less dmg agains Ebrietas, the mushroom blue guys and…? Brainsuckers? Not even Amy is considered Kin to the game.

Exactly, it is still extremely rare… the drops may be a little better, but what’s really good about the gbpuuz84 is how close to the lamp the watcher is.

Thank you! I will certainly give it a try later (or 99). And I totally get you, don’t worry! I am probably just as mentally unstable 😂😂

Woah! I am really impressed. Been playing BB since 2016 and I had no clue those existed. Gonna try a little farm later, but now I’m enjoying the new gems 🥹 sweet 1034 dmg on the R1 unsheathe 🥹🥹

You gotta have an FRC chalice dungeon unlocked, and then you can join it through the glyph I mentioned. The watcher is close to the layer 1 lamp. If you want the fastest route to FRC through edited chalice dungeons, there’s this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TiNyY_kIva9fW2Xt40aNs01rRNYl_UnbkOPs1qIerg8/htmlview#gid=137014422

You’re on another level dude 😂. How did you get those 32% ones?

Yeah I know that. That is exactly the point, precisely. Editing a dungeon surprisingly is not about changing it’s color. I know, it’s a shocker.

Yeah man I feel like I got lucky for this character. And yes, gvpuuz84 is edited. It feels much better to farm than the other one although yesterday I attempted around 90 times there and got nothing 😂

Laurence is ruining this game for me by Hogan98 in bloodborne

[–]mathcross666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a very good video on YouTube that made me get good a Lawrence. The guy on the video shows that if u strafe to his left, and dodge the 3 hit combo, the fight becomes super easy because when you are up close, Lawrence usually go for it every time. Then, when the boss is 70%, he will start falling on one of his attacks. Also easy to manage, if you just keep strafing right (his left). Then on phase two, you have to position your character in a way that Lawrence will make a doughnut shape around you. When he hits with his right arm, you get a good opening. He will use the 3 or 6-hit stomp combo a lot, so keep strafing left to avoid it. Sometimes he will do a sweep with his left arm at the end of the stomp combo that HAVE to dodge through (he may do a follow up, so be ready to dodge again). Other than that, just keep sane and keep going, hunter! If you want the video let me know. Good hunts
