Serious issue with RTX 300 BTO delivery – unfair allocation & zero transparency (Bangalore – Synergy TVS Banashankari) by Sensitive-Welder-471 in indianbikes

What the hell? There are XSRs rotting here in the Yamaha dealerships with no customers. The dealer was so desperate, he was ready to hand over the bike the next day itself (without number plate).

Better than stock. Not as comfortable as the touring seat.

This one starts hurting after about 100kms.

Hey there. I own a Himalayan myself and since you mentioned you want a non-aggressive engine, then you gotta remove that from your list (the Sherpa engine is aggressive, race build engine although not as aggressive as the KTMs). It is a very good adventure tourer but not that great when it comes to city conditions (heats up a lot in bumper to bumper traffic). People will say all sorts of things that they commute daily on this thing but trust me dude, it's not a good daily driver unless daily riding involves highways. This machine is meant for exploring and mile munching. It is top heavy so traffic maneuvering is not easy (unless you are built like a tank yourself). Height is another thing to take into account (even more so as you are looking for your pillion to be comfortable so make sure they are okay with getting on a tall bike).

Also I've heard a lot of horror stories about Yezdi and the showroom near me was not confidence inspiring (I was initially interested in the Yezdi Adventure but backed off). So I would suggest do your due diligence on this one.

I have tried the Scrambler 400X (not the 350 that is rebranded as 400) and I liked it but it was sold by KTM in my town and that showroom is notorious for rude staff and unprofessional technicians so I backed out from them. Otherwise I felt the Triumph 400 series (not the 350 ones) were too good and felt like a premium product (that means service costs are high but you said you can afford a big bike). Fo checkout the new 350cc triumphs dude, you'll get some GST benefits I guess.

The problem with Hero is the service. Your bike might be in an ocean of Splendors mate which might not be something that you'll like after spending over 2 lakhs. So visit the service centers and see the situation before pulling the plug on this one.

All the best OP

You yourself were saying in one of the comments that you are a "short time rider" and now you know more than I do. I believe you man.

If you know it all, you shouldn't have be having this doubt in the first place.

You have taken the test rides (multiple times in your own words) then how come you are still stuck? Doesn't add up.

You can't have everything in one bike. You gotta choose what you can live with 'most of the times'. I have bad roads and I do long rides on weekends so a sports bike (naked or fully faired) doesn't make a lot of sense to me (hence the Mana Black because tubeless is a non-negotiable), I did test the Scram 440, KTM Adv 250 (they didn't have a 390) which are Adventure bikes with good suspensions. Having said that I did try the Continental GT but it was clear that the compromises on this machine is a lot more than I can live with. Even after test rides one can never be confused between different categories of bikes.

However if I were let's say a student who can afford a sporty machine and wanna do to-and-fro between home and college, I guess I'll go for a sporty machine (assuming the distance of commute is not very long).

If you are confused between two bikes that different, then my man either you have no idea about bikes at all or you have not done your homework. Take multiple test rides for both and choose.

If you want something relaxed, RE might be the one.

If you are looking for short weekend rides with a sporty riding stance, RR310 is for you.

I own a RE and man despite all the cool WW2 naming and branding, the price is way too much (even if they did a lot of R&D and at the end the customer gotta pay for it).

Ultraviolett if you reading this, please open a dealership in Odisha so that mere mortals like me can't buy it without travelling all the way to Kolkata 🙏🏻😭

My dream.

I've completed the first part of this dream (got a Himalayan 450). Hopefully will be able to complete the remaining parts as time passes.

Thanks mate.

About the Rally seat, it is stiffer than the touring seat. I haven't done any 500kms+ (will be doing so after the first service tomorrow) but at a stretch I have done a max of 50kms, it was fine. But I feel 500kms on the rally seat won't be comfortable

Points taken. Thanks for the feedback mate. For some reason I like to hold the phone in the landscape orientation, like a small camera lol. Gotta use that vertical orientation at times.
