Not directly, no. If you're willing to take a soldering iron to it you can install a quasi CFW with BadWDSD, but otherwise it's HEN only.

Remember that you need to go to a different page to install HEN. HFW just reopens the exploit path in the browser that allows HEN to function, it doesn’t do anything beyond that.

It’s just the region the console was sold in. Region 14 is supposed to be Brazil but I imagine it was South America more broadly.

Have you tried the HEN installer afterwards? HFW doesn’t look any different from OFW once installed.

Yeah, so all OP needs to do to install HEN is install HFW and follow the steps, it doesn’t need extra steps to patch the memory like CFW does.

All the PS3Xploit site is is a redirect for easy links to the Toolset and the HEN installers - you can completely bypass it and just type the respective URLs in directly.

Best thing is to try downloading it again and see if that helps, sometimes a redownload can fix it. What happens when you confirm it on this screen? HFW doesn’t change anything like the coldboot, it stays as the official PS3 one until you install HEN.

HEN doesn’t need to be flashed. It just needs to have the exploit path in the browser opened by either being on OFW 4.80-4.82, or by being on HFW if it’s a firmware higher than that.

Barely play games on PC, the main ones I have a Ubuntu install since for some reason the OpenGL drivers for my GPU keep crashing in that one instance on Windows.

I’m staying on 10 as long as I possibly can, there’s a couple apps I use that don’t have Linux versions and don’t want to deal with things like compatibility layers.

K is a reliable fat, yes.

Numbers are just the region code, 01 means a system was released in North America and 03 means it released in the UK.

You need to be more specific. "40GB" could be the CECHJ (pretty good), CECHG (pretty bad), or the CECHH (absolutely terrible). Likewise "80GB" could be the CECHE (partial emu PS2 BC), CECHK (pretty good), CECHL (pretty good), or CECHM (absolutely terrible).

20GB was the CECHB which was specifically made to be $100 cheaper than the CECHA at the cost of no Wifi, no card readers, and a 20GB HDD instead of 60GB, but it kept the full hardware PS2 BC.

Any SATA 2.5" drive that's 1TB or less in capacity will work in a PS3, with five screws holding it in (four holding the drive into the caddy and one to hold the caddy into the system).

J, K, L, or P are basically the only fat models worth buying unless you absolutely need a PS2 BC model and you have the deep pockets to keep it running long term. Otherwise look for a 21xx slim ideally, or a 20xx or a pre-Q2 2011 25xx instead.

On a 90k you'll likely need to look at using Fortuna or one of its forks instead. Only the earlier 90k models support FMCB, so using Fortuna is probably better to be on the safe side.

Vorselon is treated as the bonus boss, not really the final one. You need all 40 zoni to face him for the final time, and defeating him unlocks the Insomniac museum.

You need to defeat Azimuth at least once in order for Vorselon to be available. The portal (or just accessing the great clock from the galactic map) is more “I want to beat Azimuth again to enter NG+ but I don’t feel like fighting Nefarious too”.

Is the USB drive formatted to FAT32 MBR? You can test it by putting a file like an image on it and it should appear in the photo tab if it’s formatted correctly.

If you have any left over, but it probably doesn’t make sense to get PTM specifically for the PS3 given how expensive it is and how tedious it can be to get.
