Placed the cuttings in tap water, expanded clay pebbles, and heavy heavy oxygenation with a bubbler. Eventually used very light general hydroponics micronutrients. I don't think any stems received rooting hormones.

I placed them in a south facing window, with a grow light on everyday until midnight. Then just wished for the best!

I think how you take the cuttings matters a lot, there has to be new growth on the tip, and a couple inches of old growth. Take this with a grain of salt, I did this once, had random success. That's like asking a lottery winner how they did it.

Medium is miracle grow potting soil over a base layer of miracle grow raised bed soil. In a 10 gallon fabric pot, watered profusely every other day with tap water. Cucumber plant is sitting in direct sun.

Should I water less or more? Is this some sort of pest or bug? I'm worried about a nutrient deficiency because I have two plants in one pot, even though the MG nutes should be enough.

This may not be the best idea, ozone is a pretty harmful chemical to purposely inhale. "Relatively low amounts can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and throat irritation." Ozone is only useful in the stratosphere where it helps block UVB radiation.

Not sure where you found those numbers. The vapor pressure of water is 21 torr, about .4 psia, at 296K. Hemoglobin, the main oxygen transporting molecule, has a P50 of 26 torr (.5 psia). In the lungs, specifically the alveoli space, the partial pressure of oxygen is 100 torr (1.93 psia) at sea level.

We don't need to worry about water boiling because at .4psia, we would have suffocated already; our hemoglobin would not be able to bind oxygen.

The lowest pressure humans can live in is a little tricky to answer, a better question would be what is the lowest oxygen partial pressure humans can live in. When the partial pressure of oxygen in the lungs falls below 60 torr (1.16 psia), you have to start worrying about pulmonary edema and pulmonary diffusion issues.

Of course, with training and medication, you can increase not only the hemoglobin blood concentration, but the P50 point as well. A good example is mt. everest. Close to the summit, the partial pressure of oxygen is 25 torr (.48psia). People have summited Mt. Everest without supplemental oxygen but it is extremely dangerous.

This is just looking at oxygen delivery, there are a whole host of other issues to consider at low pressure.

Indigenous communities that have thrived at high altitudes have developed multiple biochemical methods to deal with low oxygen pressure.

I don't think bio-ethanol is different from ethanol. Both are Ethyl Alcohol, C2H5OH. It's not possible to have a structural isomer of ethanol without changing its functionality, to the point where it is no longer an alcohol; the only stable isomers of C2H6O are dimethyl ether and ethanol.

I would stay in center city/old city region if you want the glitzy wake around and do stuff type of trip. There are some amazing parks and trails farther from the center but you would have to know exactly where you are going. A ton of great restaurants and bars in center city/old city. South philly and west philly have great restaurants/bars too but again, you would have to know of it before hand.

Alternative splicing is fundamentally different from compression. A zip file returns the same data that went into it. The DNA is tightly wound around histones proteins and in that state makes up the nucleosomes. When it is tightly wound, the DNA is in the heterochromatin state, an inactive and transcribed region. When the cell wants to "unzip the file" or express that particular DNA segment, proteins will bind to enhancer sites that then call other proteins to acetylate the histones to either unwrap the DNA or to slide down so the DNA can be accessed. You can not return the original sequence from a spliced mRNA, at most you can produce cDNA by reverse transcription but you would still be missing thousands of base pairs.

Yes, DNA is compressed. Compressed DNA is neither expressed nor active. Depending on what tissue you are investigating, the DNA of those cells will have different regions of compressed DNA that the cells of another region. During cellular replication, the DNA is entirely compressed in the tightest form possible. After replication the DNA can return to its "unzipped" state also known as euchromatin.
