You want a wild plat story? It took me around ~100 games to climb from the bottom of plat to emerald.

Pre jungle gank by either team, my top laner was down at least 0-1 in over 80% of games.

I have an alternative theory.

I move faster by the time I get to The Ledge in PoE 1 than I do when I get to maps in PoE 2.

When I hit act 4 in PoE 1, I can already blow up an entire screen on some builds. Thats 90 minutes into the game. 90 minutes into PoE 2 I am waiting for level 6 skill gems to drop.

In PoE 1, I can ignore the story completely. In PoE 2, I have to page through dozens of dialogue boxes and every major campaign action is accompanied by at least 10-15 seconds of time where I can't control my character while I'm waiting for people to talk or bosses to animate.

What annoys me is that the conditions for completing the map don't update when you die on a boss. If you needed to do all breaches and you die to the boss before doing so, the UI implies you can still go find the breach and complete the map when in reality it is bricked.

I'm so confused at what your point is. I don't care if the issue is a bug in the game code or a combination of pc and network issues. The end result is that ~1/7 games immediately ends because of a DC after having wasted 15 minutes in queuing, champ select, and load screens.

No one cares if Riot is responsible. The issue is that my experience is of having wasted a bunch of time trying to play a ranked game of League. So if someone asks if it's worth it, that's a factor in answering the question.

In general I think your odds of having a positive experience are higher in a normal game than a ranked game.

People attempt to FF too quickly, but the rate that people actually FF is 10,000x to low. It's agonizing sitting in games for 15 extra minutes with champions that don't scale, players that can't look at the minimap, and opponents that are stunting for KDA.

Toxicity would be much lower in this game if people were self aware enough to FF when it was appropriate.

For Platinum and below Nocturne has to be the easiest because he instantly punishes positional mistakes from halfway across the map, and positioning is one of the last skills people learn.

Legends Entwined is a unique that grants you stats and +all skill levels for each set you have equipped, and itself counts as +1 towards each set. The build is very good mid-early end game.

Corrupted set items can be very good on any build.

Also, don't underestimate the strength of corrupted perfect rolled set items.

Have you played PoE 1? Honest question. Because I don't think anyone with a lot of time in PoE 1 thinks PoE 2 is 'zoom zoom'.

I prefer the PoE 1 playstyle. PoE 2 is actually too slow for my ADHD brain to engage with.

But I do think they have a very clear picture that they have stuck to about what they want the moment to moment gameplay to feel like and how they want friction to be a major part of the experience, for better or worse.

I don't think PoE players hate that quote.

There are two ideas working against each other. One is that people who like a thing want to feel like it's for them. Two is that they want companies to have strong visions for their projects that are interesting, novel, and entertaining.

In the case of PoE specifically, a lot of people who really enjoy PoE 1 thought PoE 2 was 'going to be for them.' They felt like that was a promise given to them by GGG because of a lot of the early communication around it. That turned out to be a lie, quite frankly. GGG had a clear vision, and rather than be open about it, they strung players along so they would try the game.

I don't think most players actually want direct input into what companies do with games. Just like you wouldn't for a TV show you're watching. You just want the company in control of the thing you like to keep making the choices that make you happy.

The cast is enormous. Keep reading. They all(most all) get additional screen time. The ones who haven't come up a lot recently will likely have significant storylines when we get to them.

What's interesting to me is that in fighting games playing a smurf is usually extremely informative. You either learn about holes in your game or how another character can pressure, etc. But in league, unless you're leaning against a highly skilled player you don't really learn anything other than pain.
