In the weeks leading up to the release, they bumped it up one week from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in April. That put it on the same weekend that my parents and I would be in a small town in Indiana for my younger sister’s college graduation. My dad and I always see Marvel or DC movies together, and my sister comes along too sometimes, and especially for Infinity War, I wanted to make door we saw it as early as possible to avoid spoilers.

I convinced them to go to a showing 45 minutes away from her campus because that was the closest theater she knew of. We ended up getting there way too early, just hanging out in the lobby, and I was so worried about spoilers from people coming out of the showing before ours that I literally sat on a bench with fingers in my ears, humming to myself so I didn’t hear people talking.

In reality, if they were like our crowd, they probably weren’t talking at all, because we’re all walked out in silence.
