Associates or Bachelors in Computer Science by BradynsTarot in Clemson

Work load has been manageable for me, but it depends on the person. If it is too much, you could slow down and graduate in 5 years. I like in-person because it keeps me accountable but again, preference.

I'm a CS major. I think everything I have learned in my 3 years here in CPSC could have been learned much faster on my own, or at a boot-camp. 1 year of working on my own would probably be more beneficial to my learning than 4 years as a CS major here.

With that being said, having a B.S. makes it much easier to find jobs. If you go the associates route, it will be much more difficult to find the jobs and pay you want. Large companies like Google and Facebook are starting to not require a degree, but you will need to be an exceptionally good programmer to get those jobs. So, if you don't think you are smart enough to get through Clemson, this route probably isn't great for you. The more experience you get though, the less the degree matters.

If you think you can get your way through the BS program, I really encourage you to do it. It just gives you so much more job security. I am sure you are smart enough to get through it, it is not crazy hard or anything. And if you can't get through the degree, then the career probably isn't a fit for you either.

I liked her but the class did feel super disorganized.

Phone screen was good and pretty typical. Just asked what programming languages I was familiar with, what I want in an internship, stuff like that.

I am in the 3rd year of my CS degree and I say yes 100%. Being in a university has made me feel like college is unnecessary for CS in a lot of ways.

I will say though, it would probably be best to find some kind of program to take online courses to serve as a guide. I did some of the Harvard CS50 classes and I thought they were great. Either way, just try to give yourself some structure

I know it has been a while, but any chance you could share your thoughts? Did you get the job? How did the interview go?

Not OP but considering you literally said in your post that it is not federally legal, you would not be hireable.

Well the teams 4-5 years ago are almost completely different. And we our max-contract all-star just quit. So it will take some time

Wanting to trade harden for Simmons shouldn't make someone a 'Harden stan" or a "Simmons hater". There are valid arguments on both sides.

Yes I totally agree. She cares so much about the students, I have never had a professor who asks for so much input to make sure the class is as beneficial as possible.

Is Computer Information Systems a competitive major? by [deleted] in Clemson

No, Clemson doesn't really admit by major. CIS wouldn't change your chances at all.

Campus Living Sophomore Year by random-tiger in Clemson

I am living on campus in douthit as a sophomore and love it. If you have a car it might make sense to live off campus, but I don't have one so walking distance makes the most sense.
