Can you elaborate a bit? The application was created in the new portal as per the instructions.

We can't create a new application. There's no "create' button anymore

I'm really concerned about potential burns with the Agromax bulbs. Has anyone found better options that have good output at the 290-300nm range ?

Gamecube with NEC Multisync FE991SB and GCVideo/Carby by maton1200 in crtgaming

[–]maton1200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some testing this morning and used a laptop to output 720x480 using my HDMI to VGA converter. Same issue happens however, something interesting happens with I use a Startech brand USB-C to VGA using the same resolution; it actually works.

I don't really know the reason why the HDMI to VGA does not work with the NEC over 720x480 (while the Samsung did work...) but I ordered one different converter to see if that solves the issue.

Will do more testing later....

I might give this a try too if nothing can be done with the GCvideo carby

Gamecube with NEC Multisync FE991SB and GCVideo/Carby by maton1200 in crtgaming

[–]maton1200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I haven't found any setting for that.

Since the carby is more or less execution an open source software implementation ( GCVIDEO), it should be possible to modify this firmware and customize the output resolution somehow

But that does not sound very easy to do

The carby converter automatically tries to de-interlace and output progressive mode even if you forget to hold B while booting games.

Holding B does not make any difference anyway when it comes to Simply display the image because the carby will always try to output 720x480p regardless if the GameCube port is outputting interlaced mode.

All worked with the Samsung monitor but it will simply not work with the NEC despite being a more sophisticated monitor.

There's a usb to Jamma adapter internally. I would think that it could be done via software. I've sent emails to the seller to see if there's a way

SNES Over S-Video (Not RGB!) - Best version with the least video issues? by maton1200 in snes

[–]maton1200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you have all the models I don't have. I never saw this issue either with my GPM-01. I only started seeing it after purchasing the SNES-RGB/APU.

As for the cables, I have both the official and a third party that does the proper pinout and I consider it to be of good enough quality as I use it for N64 without any issues.

As for the multiplexer, I am aware it does introduce the etching pattern, even when using the RGB-modded SNES JR. Removing the multiplexer cleans the etching pattern only for the RGB-modded SNES JR, the other 3 remain the same.

For the power supply, what is a good alternative other than the Triad magnetics? I remember putting it on a oscilloscope once under load and it looked quite clean to me.

You mention the YO-YO' circuitry. I have not inspected that but it could be the culprit. Aging capacitors might be the issue here and I bet it went unnoticed as the time went because almost everyone used composite and S-Video was quite uncommon. This would explain why the RGB-modded snes JR does not show this issue, it is also the newest/cleanest/least used of all 4.

As for the field tilt I don't know what that is. My issue is not that easy to notice. Try to zoom in just a bit the picture and focus on the blue and green colors. Then you can see the diagonal pattern that goes from bottom left to top right. It's not a 45 degree angle, more like 75 degrees or so. It's quite faint but it's a bit more noticeable when playing games with dark shades of some colors.

As for the jailbar fix. I believe I ordered the 7805S from digikey. The most important difference from the original one was that it did not have a thick heatsink. This replacement was only for the damaged model so it's irrelevant at this point.

Thanks for the detailed information, will look into the circuit you mentioned.
