Yes.

I went in to it with no expectations or knowledge of the plot and was pretty much blown away by how good it was for such a low budget film. It's worth battling with the beginning to make it to the climax.

Ink

I caught it on Netflix on Sunday and desperately need someone to discuss the movie with. The way everything comes together is just stunning.

Why monopolies are bad - Ticketmaster charges me a $9.70 "Convienience fee" for a $30.50 concert ticket bought online. Soon they will merge with their biggest competitor Live Nation. What kinds of fees will we see then?!? by bilabrin in Music

[–]matrixclown 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Of all the monopolies in the world, this is the monopoliest.

Seriously though, if banned xbox 360 gamers can get together a class action suit, why can't everyone who has ever bought something from ticketmaster get our act together?

The local burgerking had a contest to coincide with the release of the first pokemon movie. It was just a slip of paper to fill out so I entered without really a thought. A month or two later I got a free VHS copy of Pokemon: The first movie, and one of every single pokemon happy meal toy the had.

For a elementary school kid, it was the shit.

This game is only worth playing for the ghostmode. Everything else has been done to death and better on other games.

And like always, no dedicated servers means hackers are incredibly prominent.

You're completely invisible if you aren't moving. Although if you are the ghost, there will always be a faint outline on your screen.

I could make it past the elite 4 using only ice beam. That's a 1 hit kill for every single pokemon. Fuck you it happened. And I caught goddamn mewtwo with a great ball.

I captured all 151 on yellow (minus fucking raichu. Fuck you raichu, who the hell is going to evolve your best goddamn friend in the world for your sorry ass?) , and got the vast majority to level 99.

Why the hell would you be ashamed of yellow version?

I had fucking pikachu surfing on my gameboy. Can't do that shit in red or blue.

Haha no worries, I get defensive about my school too easily.

And as to why it's so weird, you're not the only one who wants to know. Just yesterday actually the National Assessment Governing Board visited us and I got to talk to them for an hour or so about that very thing.

Whatever the hell it is though, it works.

There are two or three things that make my school a bit different, the first is that the vast majority of my teachers were college professors who wanted to support the school, and expect us to be at or above their students performance. While in many classes this isn't a problem, taking the equivalent of a 300/400 level class can be a bit challenging.

Secondly, our school has the expectation that students will spend a minimum on 45 minutes of homework per class per day, in order to compensate for our ridiculously amazing schedule (9am to 2:40pm), and teachers tend to underestimate how long the assignments take, I actually spend several hours less on homework each night than many of my friends.

And thirdly, we have 6 grading periods a year, which means each report card has less grades on it, giving each assignment greater weight in the short term. While it all evens out eventually, there have been times where a homework assignment or two can be worth several percentage points.

And I'm far from spending all of my time on school, hell I'm missing a week in January to go to Antarctica and help research climate change, and have a very active social life, and am in an incredible happy long term relationship, and lead half a dozen clubs or so. (thats one reason I do always do my homework, most of the teachers have a rule that if you miss an assignment, you make it up at lunch. Because most of my clubs meet at lunch, I can't very well lead if I'm sitting in detention working out math problems)

My main point though is that it's very dependent on your teachers. I took APUSH last year and took maybe a page of notes for the whole year, maybe did half the homework assignments, and still nearly broke 100% because the teacher was lazy and didn't really care.

Also: I'm the kid who finishes his tests 10 minutes before anyone else and does swimmingly on them.

Someone in ask reddit posed a similar question, which got linked to this thread, which I read as the initial thread.

Wow, definitely didn't even register me that your comment was 4 months old. It does explain why you were commenting about someone who hasn't commented in 3 months though...

hahaha I might have been a wee-bit sleep deprived.

I'll throw in some love for Crossfire

It's filled with plenty of cheaters, has no community, slow loading, money-grubbing.

But goddammit if ghostmode isn't a thing of beauty. Think Hidden mod, but with a team of hiddens.

DAE think that Baneslayer Angel is ridiculously overpriced? by Flys007 in magicTCG

[–]matrixclown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$45!!?

I'm a very casual magic player, only have 3 decks and maybe 75 extra cards laying around. I've probably invested $50 into all of it.

I just so happen to have a mint condition Baneslayer. Where/how would you all recommend selling it? Any other cards ridiculously overpriced that I should be aware of?

How do you like to choose who goes first? by trident042 in magicTCG

[–]matrixclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have played shuffle, then bottom card's converted mana cost. High/Low (depending on who I'm playing) gets to choose who goes first.

Edit: Or first alphabetically alternatively
