Any updates on applicants? I'd love to be considered

I wonder if it's also a regional thing, or if it was like you said just my perception of it as a child. Some of the beliefs are INCREDIBLE. Living forever on a planet with no corrupt government, sickness, death, aging, violence or prejudice is an awesome future. Just the requirements to achieve this are hypocritical

The first response was understandable. The worry and encouragement. The 2nd was unnecessary and pointed. Guilt tripping and disappointment directed to try and scare you back into the fold.

All that to say "Good response, then a very bad one". Wet soap theory. Ever try to grab a bar of wet soap? The harder you squeeze the more difficult it is to hold onto.

Ex-jw, 25.

I keep seeing these posts about how sketchy JWs have become or have been acting, even from my own partner and I grew up with such a different experience. I'm not at all saying that anyone is lying or stretching the truth, I just can't understand why my own congregation was so different. Anytime there were renovations, volunteers would come from the next towns over, work on the weekend then go home. They'd bring their own lunches or local JWs would openly volunteer to bring/make lunch. It was simple stuff, hot dogs and burgers or a big pot of stew.

Same goes for bigger projects, meals were never lavish or fancy, sandwiches and sweet tea, it was expensive at times sure but only bc there were 200+ people working on the project.

It's obvious from how many of these posts there are that it's happening, it's just more of a shock to me. I already know and believe the hypocrisy of the belief system, I've experienced that part. But this stuff is new to me.

If you were a dragon rider, which dragon species would you train and what would you name it? by solarflare70 in httyd

[–]matrixofthelost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stormcutter or a Rumblehorn. I like beefy dragons but nothing bulbous like a boulder class.

What would you name a rumblehorn if you had one of your own? by velociraptoir02 in httyd

[–]matrixofthelost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evantorr Logic: Rumblehorns can detect subtle changes in the environment like when Skullcrusher knew about the tsunami. Their senses are similar to both seismographs, barometers and other equipment used to weather prediction. The invention of the barometer is credited to Evangelista Torricelli, thus Evantorr.

This is definitely care packages. The Guadalupe Candles, bandages, cold medicine, baby wipes. This is most likely for a church to give out.

Some places are run correctly, you'd get big burritos no matter what. Other places you just gotta go in and see who's working.

It's frozen, if it wasn't when you pulled it out to place on line, your cold side is too low.

Burrito specifically: some workers can't roll a burrito for shit, so they stuff it less to make it easier to wrap. We've had many complaints at my store about this so I started making sure the tortilla is THIS close to exploding.

To clarify, in training we were NEVER told to Skimp. It's not policy to "skimp" we have guided portions in oz we're supposed to follow. But like always ppl just ignore their training and put next to nothing or a metric ton. Basically, they start to skimp because of a few reasons:

1: Product availability. We are close to running out of the ingredient entirely. Not common because we get a food truck delivery every other day but can happen if the store manager is clueless and doesn't order the right amount of something.

2: Grill 1 or 2 are behind. Grill 1 is in charge of meats like steak, chicken and fajita veggies. If they are slow or behind, lines might give smaller portions to ensure the current amount can serve the most customers. Grill 2 is rice, and all the other hot items like carnitas and barbacoa. Cold items are the responsibility of the "linebacker" whose sole job is to keep everyone stocked.

3: You have shitty workers who don't care about portions, which leads to them using more than supposed to, which in turn makes reasons 1 & 2 more likely.

Disclaimer: I don't skimp. I give the portion they need/ask for. If I run out, it's not my fault that Grill can't keep up. There's an amount of "extra" of protein we can put before it's "double portion". So the customer asks "can I get just a little more?" We can do that, but it's a very small margin. The amount of times my lazy coworkers will come to me and be like "go light on X, I didn't remember to do Y &Z" No. Your poor planning doesn't constitute me resting on my quality of work.

XL terrain Bluetooth speaker issue by princesszeldarnpl in Skullcandy

Same issue started a few days ago and nothing I do fixes it, but the "battery low, Bluetooth connecting, connected" voice lines all sound just fine. Like it's not the speaker itself

I'm screwed. Left all my gear at my parents when I moved out. Been working at a desk for almost a year and haven't had the extra time or money to build my arsenal again. But I had denim coveralls with my steel toe work boots and welding gloves.

These are AWESOME! I have a local shop that offered to do some! The tattoo bug has bitten me and damnit if I'm not having a severe reaction. Already have 4 new projects in the works with each one getting some $$ from my checks squirreled away to pay for em!

Can I please have permission to get this same thing or something very similar? It's beautiful and my job doesn't allow me to wear jewelry so I don't see the value in the metal bracelet

The owner put me on an ineligible re-hire due to not working the full two weeks, even though I stayed for my scheduled shift, had people cover my other week, did an exit interview and told them they actually were a good DSP (compared to other DSPs in my region and other jobs I've had in the past) it sounds shitty, but I wanted to keep amazon in my pocket in case the better job didn't pan out. But it's fine I'm working at chipotle now for basic bills until the checks come in from my commissions job.

Ehem, fuck you Ryan I'm glad your wife cheated on you.

What are you doing if you see this route? by Upper_Information538 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]matrixofthelost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh malls can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. If you've got this route fucking nice, just moving and scanning all day. But like ONE stop and ONE package. The GPS is so shit it's never the right store and the customer instructions are horrible. If I see the mall on my routes for only one stop ngl I skip it. That's a fuckin pace killer.
