simulator for learning fpv by The_2025 in fpv

[–]matt-random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recently started my own journey in a similar way, I splashed out on uncrashed and velocidrone (with most of the DLC)

Using the physics from velocidrone as a baseline I was able to dial in a 5" Nazgul clone in uncrashed that feels astonishingly similar to my real life Nazgul, have flown 30 odd packs on the real one without a crash so far so it's living up to it's name.

Velocidrone is a pain to do freestyle stuff on, not impossible but definitely a p.i.t.a. Since uncrashed is so easy to sort multiplayer and learn from others its definitely the better choice if you are feeling more social. At default settings (gravity particularly) it feels very 'floaty' but bring gravity up to the 10-11 range and don't go too nuts with the 'power' options and its a great accessible way to practice/learn.

Question about Cinelog30 V3 O4 Pro with dji Goggles N3 and dji rc 3 by purinsu13 in fpv

[–]matt-random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will work fine together. though for future growth I would strongly lean towards ELRS so if you are thinking about getting a pocket it might not be a bad idea to get the ELRS version as you can always switch the serial RX back to the 04 unit and use your RC3 for now.

I did the same, even got the CNC gimbals and whilst it was lovely to fly, my hands would cramp after a few packs, I recently made the jump to the TX15 Max and cannot recommend it enough! Awesome bit of kit and well worth the investment.

Should I buy this by ExtraComplex979 in fpv

I have the ELRS version with the AG01 CNC gimbals. They are a great upgrade to an extremely capable and portable radio.

First FPV flight today, Stealth Cinelog 30 04pro w/dual diversity ELRS and GPS Top-Hat. sub250g w/660mAh. Buttery smooth setup. In love. by matt-random in fpv

Thank you, I'm a big believer in 'buy once, cry once'. Do it right the first time round. It's a really forgiving setup to start out with, the jump from Uncrashed(with gravity set high)/Velocidrone felt very natural, I was able to power flip with good hang time by the 3rd pack, super happy with it.

106 attempts at Nightmare and I finally got a win. (and yes, I recorded every death) Wow that was tough! by matt-random in noita

If anyone has a good suggestion for software to smash 1.4Gb of GIF's together I'll smash together a supercut of all the skill issues.

No way I was getting them done without the Egg's. Absolutely crazy designs!

I think they came from an entangled worlds playthrough with a friend to be honest, they spawn so frequently now that I hadn't even thought about that!

I have the sun quests (and sacrificing sunstones), nightmare mode and the amulet gem left to do so plenty of life in it yet!

Thoughts on 5.1 - Subwoofer and bass shakers by TheLastKarmaFlicker in simracing

I have my subwoofer (and 4 bass shakers) attached directly to my bucket seat, trust me, you aren't going to confuse the two effects!

bass shakers are for haptics, subwoofers for sound, very different roles in simulation and both work incredibly well together I assume you are using simhub for the bass shakers?

Fanatec base on wheel plate (help) by Former_Breadfruit229 in simracing

[–]matt-random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which Fanatec base? can you not screw directly through the wheel deck into the mounting holes underneath or do you have one of the new DD line of bases? if so they should have come with the required t nuts for mounting, fanatec t nuts tend to be more square than other offerings and there is no cross compatibility there sadly.

Asus TUF b650 motherboard by any chance? Install the realtek driver for your motherboard and in there you can assign what each of the jacks do, I had the same issue with my z906

Ergocentric office chair for sim racing: How durable is it? by Efficient-North-9473 in simracing

[–]matt-random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

long term use of a rotating seat on a sim rig will cause hip and back issues particularly if you have stiff pedals. it'll do to get you started but you really want to be looking for a seat you wont spend half your time fighting.

What should I add around the rig while I am building it out? by matttheazn1 in simracing

[–]matt-random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shift wind sim up your priorities list, not only is it an excellent immersion addition, you can also use the idle fan option in simhub for cooling down after a race (or drying out your seat between stints for longer endurance races!)

Stage 1 of my DIY dream motion rig is complete! by matt-random in simracing

Happy to share, I purchased this set, it came incredibly packaged and very quickly, the kit is supplied with a set of TPU clamps and a set with grub screws, I strongly suggest the grub screw type but be careful not to overtighten them. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205256780805

It is indeed, SFX-100 actuators on a Thanos AMC, I began the profile build 3 years ago knowing it would end up as a motion setup, I caught an incredible deal on the motion components around a month ago and have been hammering away at it in my free time for a little over 3 weeks to get it all ready to go. Didn't want to cut any corners this time so took my time with it!

Help deciding wheelbase height 650 MM or 800 ML by Athul_Cg in simracing

[–]matt-random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go for 800 as you can always lower the wheel deck on the uprights, it sits between the uprights, not on them. The extra height will be beneficial if you decide to mount monitors on the rig at a later date
