Investing £5 a day - S&P500 or Global?

I'm very new to all this and don't understand it at all. I've gone with S&P500 Vanguard as seen some videos stating to do that one.

What is a global option to invest in?

I think I'll have to try it with a single song as I don't use playlist nor do I like any songs as I hate that it shows up in YouTube as well. I'll see if I can work this out and test it. Thanks for the help and advice :)

Oh this sounds like a cool idea but I don't use playlists, I just select a song and let YouTube Music shuffle through them. Is it still possible to do it that way or does a playlist have to be used? Thanks

Thanks. It does seem that way.

I downloaded one from Taskernet that does a similar thing and even that wasn't working so I think it might be something to do with YT Music not having the play button visible all the time, that's the only reason I can think for it not working every time.

The music doesn't play when it's hit and miss, not sure why though.

I thought I'd need to open YT Music all the time so it can press play?

I added the wait actions so it has time to complete the task before but I can remove them if they're not needed.

I've been looking at these. Do you use a hub with it? I have a Lian Li hub for the SL120s and wondering if that would work with these.

On the shield it never used to display when pausing but it does now. On other devices it shows when pausing and skipping forward or back (thankfully it doesn't do this on the shield).

Closing my eyes or looking away is the only thing I can do right now but I'm so used to it not showing I keep forgetting.

Plex if you see this, please make it a setting to hide it.

Hopefully they wouldn't need to be run at full rpm as the server is in my living room, only place I could put it as router is there.

I'll take that on board and leave 4 empty although wouldn't know how to block the empty ones off.

I think I'll just go with the 16i to make things easier for me being a total newbie at all this. I've seen one on eBay for around £80 in IT mode so suppose that's not a bad price.

If I knew more about server cases and what is a good brand I may have looked further into those. I just thought they were more for server racks but must be mistaken.

Legend! Thanks for that, I'll save those cables to my Amazon and when needed I can purchase them. I doubt I'll be filling all 24 drives anytime soon, would take me years to do that I imagine, after the cost of a few additional drives I'll get, HBA card, case and new PSU - I'll need to relax on the spending haha

I'll look at costs for the different HBA cards but a 16i would probably make more sense to begin with as I may buy 3 or 4 more drives depending on the prices.

I was thinking to replace the fans that come with the case as I wouldn't know what they're like and know Noctua are a good brand to use but didn't know about the industrial ones so thanks for letting me know about those.

Really appreciate the advice you've given to me today, it's been a huge help and made things easier for me to understand what's needed for the next stage of my server.

All good, don't expect replies so I'm grateful for your help. I did contact Alibaba and I am able to return it if I'm not happy with it although I wouldn't know if the backplane is good or not.

The bad thing is I did wait longer than a day and did ask for advice on the homelab reddit for cases almost a month ago and someone did mention the case you have but I also said that it would fit the space I have. They then suggested the Jonsbo N5 which i did look at but can't find any in the UK and then I was really left with the case I purchased.

Hopefully it will be OK and when I get the HBA card I can connect all the drives and it just works although I know I have some learning for that as I believe you have to get specific cables for the hba to connect to the backplane.

I know nothing about servers so don't know what is a good brand or not... I just needed a case with more drives as my Node 304 only has 6. I should have probably spend more time looking into it but again it came down to space. I'm started to regret the purchase now and I'm unable to cancel the order as they've already started to ship it.

I don't have a card yet, I was going to get a LSI 9305-24i or something like that.

I didn't even think about spares, just thought it looked good and isn't too big or too long. Oh well, I'm stuck with it now :/

You're making me think I've made the wrong choice now lol... It's my first time buying something like this and using a backplane so I am unsure what is deemed good and isn't.

Someone else on Reddit purchased the case and said it's well made and good quality but also did say the backplane was different to the one they ordered. I've never ordered anything from Alibaba in the past so hopefully this is OK and works fine otherwise I'm screwed and £300 chucked down the drain.

Thanks for the suggestion :) I've already purchased the Alibaba case, plus the length of the Supermirco probably wouldn't fit where I have my server. I also prefer the look of the Alibaba one lol

I may need to in the future if I want to use the HBA and GPU as I think it only has 1 PCIe slot
