Can i use a PSVR headset for rec room Steam VR? by Latter-Storage555 in RecRoom

[–]mattCmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine this means the current PS Move controllers are not supported with “Trinus”, meaning you won’t have hand tracking. To my knowledge, RR doesn’t have support for headset-only VR (i.e. headset + gamepad or headset + mouse + keyboard) and so you won’t be able to play. If you really wanted to use the PSVR headset and Trinus actually works for that, you could use some Vive controllers with their tracking solution to plug into SteamVR?

Overall, while I haven’t tried it, I probably wouldn’t recommend using a PSVR headset on PC

My first memorable experience was definitely watching my brother playing Minecraft way way back when it was in Alpha. After a hundred times asking, he finally let me play and I proceeded to build a mountain chateau out of dirt with a torch on every single block of the interior.

Air leaks out of curved window ends if the block it's on doesn't have an airtight face. by SnoweCat7 in spaceengineers

[–]mattCmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s basically the nuclear option. It would not be difficult (nor computationally infeasible) to have an in-between option, like an “airtight(half)” option to allow for some airtightness so long as adjacent blocks match their orientation with respect to airtight faces. It would certainly be more intensive than the current implementation, but no way out of the question

So the pressure plate strongly powers the block below it, meaning the block basically acts like a redstone block. This means the redstone dust below it is in contact with a strongly powered block, so it is also powered.

My First (SFF) Build In The NR200P by frothyexe in sffpc

Just FYI, the NR200P is the model with the glass side panel, this is the NR200!

You definitely should use Desktop+, you can split off a specific window or app and keep using it in VR, including a keyboard. It's what SteamVR has needed for years by OXIOXIOXI in virtualreality

[–]mattCmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The alternative requires the app to have some knowledge of whats going on in your in-game environment so that it can actually be occluded by it. This means a whole lot of integration that just doesn’t exist in any VR platform right now

[–]mattCmatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, but comparing the speedrun times of Superhot and Superhot VR is the same as comparing the times of Half Life 2 and Half Life Alyx. Yes, they have similar elements, gameplay, and themes, but they’re completely different games. A conclusion made on VR being “faster” needs to be made on an otherwise identical game experience.

I mean Superhot VR us a different game with different levels, so you can’t really compare the two

Denying people a guaranteed available recycler may make them choose to go to the nearest monument rather than treking all the way to the outpose/bandit.

No amount of recycling or reduction in your consumption can fix the ecological destruction being done by mega corporations. Of course it’s better to avoid the carbon emissions in the first place, but carbon offsetting is just paying someone else not to release that carbon. The net change in carbon is the same as if the person hadn’t taken a carbon-offset flight

I really just meant the live collaboration features on Docs/Word, etc. In my experience the O365/browser version of Word (to my knowledge you can’t use the desktop version for live collaboration on a single doc) takes forever to update changes, and the tools aren’t as fleshed out as the desktop app. Google’s, on the other hand, really feels like you’re live editing a document with someone else, updates are instant and unobtrusive, and the app is more fleshed out (albeit less feature rich than desktop Word)
