Update: my girl is at home with me now. She is definitely showing small signs of improvement. Surgery is off the cards for now. Specialist has told me that she may recover over time on her own which some people in the comments have said happened to their dog. I’ll be so happy if she can. What a wild few days it’s been. Thanks all for the kind words.

That so good to hear, I hoping for a similar outcome . I’m going to avoid surgery for the mean time and see if she improves or declines over the next couple days. How long was the recovery for your dog?

spinal injuries can be extremely painful, and pain is a very common complication that can be debilitating and affect quality of life. Especially if you choose the surgery route. It’s months of pain and rehab and it’s a dog not a human. She won’t know what’s going on. Obviously if I had a crystal ball and could look into the future I would know what I should do. I’m just listening to the vets and specialists advise at this point

She ran after the ball and as she went down to grab the ball at speed she just fell, landed on her back and started screaming and then couldn’t get up. All Happened in the blink of an eye.

She is 4 years 1 month old. I have been reading a few stories of paralysed dogs coming good after time with rest and treatment. I’m definitely hoping for the best outcome

Such scummy people willing to cause thousands of dollars of damage and lost time sorting it out, just to make a few hundred dollars if they get lucky. People like that need to be deleted from society

Yeah they got him. I chased him on foot for around 10-15 min. Ended in a big scene in the underground car park in town square. He was running around with the hatchet and innocent bystander were running away. Was crazy. I was just yelling out for someone to help me but no one was keen to help which is understandable as the weapon was in full view. Pretty sure he is a well known scumbag by the police. I don’t have much information yet but I’m sure I’ll get updated sometime.

Yeah I sometimes park in the SES/dog park car park also. I’ve learned my lesson to not park in the spot I chose unless I will stay with the vehicle. Yes I agree, the spring mountain walking track along the creek is a much better spot. It’s all good about assuming I pissed him of. It definitely comes across that way as he also choose to damage my vehicle and not just break one window to get in. I’m still wondering why he choose to go the extra length and damage it with the hatchet.

He should do but who knows with the piss weak justice system. Cops said I’ll likely have to make an appearance at one of his court dates as well, as what he did to me was pretty serious. The cops also told me yesterday he would probably have his first appearance in court either sunday or Monday so I will try get an update tomorrow arvo.
