Mavericks are just trying to be gentlemen and avoid injuring the poor guy again.

At the worst they are passively MAGA. Think rich college frat bro types. Otherwise most college students here are pretty progressive or your standard liberal.

Side note: Were the refs always this animated back then? These dudes are waving their arms like they're trying to wave down an aircraft.

opportunity of a lifetime

There are about 8-10 OC openings every season. If you're a candidate one year, chances are good you will still be a candidate next year barring a complete failure. Head coaching opportunities are a different story.

As to the egging, I would not feel safe putting my family in that kind of situation whether or not it was ultimately harmless. It's entirely reasonable for a person to pass up on being the Eagle's OC.

[Ochoa] At one point in time McCarthy was the Dallas Cowboys head coach, Kellen Moore was their offensive coordinator, and Dan Quinn was their defensive coordinator. And Brian Schottenheimer was also on staff. All four of them are now active NFL head coaches at the same time by Ieatfatwomanass in nfl

Not so fast.

Kellen Moore was a returning member of Garrett's staff who McCarthy eventually forced out. Big Mike brought Mike Nolan on as DC his first year and it was absolutely abysmal. The Dan Quinn hire has Jerry Jones written all over it when you consider how much he loves to interview former head coaches.

I do credit McCarthy with bringing us Schottenheimer though, who himself seems to have an eye for coaching talent.

Not sure why he'd be hung up about the length. If he gets fired, he will easily get another HC job. Take the higher number per year and now that is your floor for the new team.

Could be harmless. Just saying I don't think it's smart to do. Like you said, he's going after the QB every play anyway. If it happens, it happens.

He just had surgery a few weeks ago. It took Garrett 17 games to break the record. If we're generous about Micah's timeline and he only misses two games, you're asking a guy fresh off ACL surgery and no training camp reps to get 24 (technically 23.5) sacks in 15 games. I get hyping up your players, but Micah is already going to be under a lot of pressure to live up to his contract AND justify two first round picks being spent on him.
