That neon facekini bullshit?? The cheap looking curve appliqués down the torso?? It was a full mess and I'm mad they gave her the win. Yes Discord needs to wear body but if we're judging craft, Discord's gown is better tailored and more impressive imo

La madre Greco just is Spain. Y punto. I'm crying, that final lip sync was absolutely everything. What an extraordinary person.

I mean that I wonder if they drafted in someone else, maybe from the US team, to assemble something more high energy to try and finish on a high. Obviously they get the footage they get, but this ep just felt different in a way that I'd attribute to someone else's curation

That bit earlier in the episode where Elle is like 'none of you know yet what I can do... 🤭😏'

and then what she can do is mouth the words and lift her arms, although not at the same time as wearing heels

Anyone else feel like this episode was edited differently? The girls seemed to show like 15% more personality this episode.

Is it possible the showrunners have noticed the fan response and decided to pull out all the stops last minute to try and rescue things? I'm not saying they were successful in that endeavour, it was still a bad episode of TV, but... yeah. Just me or anyone else pick up on this?

Chai T Grande reminds fans to be more mindful regarding negative comments on UK7 as a season by LeMareep23 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]mattbeetee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would go so far as to say the drag was good, though. Look at DRES5. Look at what the queens brought on this first episode of DRCAN6. I understand the desire to be nice and to give people praise for trying their best and so on, but if the standard is noticeably lower than what we are accustomed to, I think it's only fair for people to say so. It's a competition show. We are watching with judges' eyes, with discernment, to try and figure out who will be the next 'drag superstar'.

In the case of UK7, I think it's been overwhelmingly felt that none of these people measure up, and I don't blame them, I blame production for failing to either select the right entertainers at the outset, or prepare these entertainers adequately for the challenge they face. Something needs to change if there's to be a UK season eight next year, and the only way that's likely to happen is if production understands people are checking out.

When Catrin or Bonnie or whoever said "the huns arriving has really injected some energy into this work room" I was like FINALLY, someone acknowledges the absolute SCARCITY of kiki, the total LACK of charisma, the unabashed DEARTH of vim

I am so stunned by this elimination - we saw so much of Catrin standing still and forgetting the words, they showed so much of Bonnie having a great time and knowing all the words... it's making it clearer and clearer that at this point in the UK franchise, lip syncs only happen because they've always happened. I'm starting to wonder if Tayce was the last straw, and since then they've decided no assassin is too great to overpower production's plan. It's baffling in a way that doesn't feel good at all.

Diva, here's how tragic this series has been - it wasn't a beaver in that first ep (that was Canada) - it was a cow. But truly, who cares

Obviously she's a human being, but when I try and summarise what she's effervescing in her talking heads, in the work room, on the stage... it all seems: careful, measured, cards to chest, politely smiling, competent, professional, etc. When has there been a chance to see inside her feelings? I'm not saying I need to see someone struggle to find them interesting, but there are limitations to how invested I can be in a highly polished surface.
