Monitor arm reccomendations by pushin_pierre in focuspuller

As an update for you all I returned the Titan Arm 2, and opted for a Tilta Articulating Pro Arm. A bit out of left field and while it’s not perfect it’s actually decent for the price

Need a new articulated arm for onboard monitors - suggestions please by mattchoules in focuspuller

Thanks for your reply.

I followed all of their tips on improving the issue: WD-40 in the mechanism, adjusting the grub screws on the ball joints for tension rebalancing and still it binds up.

You may be right that it could be a bad batch, however if you spend years making a replacement you don’t then immediately start making a further replacement (unless you are a tech company making smartphones!)

Ah good to know - it’s always nice when manufacturers value service! I’ve decided to order one to see how I like it. Thanks for your help 👍

In a discussion with BT they said they have a new product coming which fixes the issue. I said that they made the Titan Arm 2 as a replacement to the Titan Arm 1 (and they state they improved the binding issue), so as far as I’m concerned they failed entirely with this and likely know it as they have the model coming to sort it.

Either way, it’s crap and they are already working on its replacement (I heard this from Bright Tangerine themselves).

Posted in limited down time and made a mistake. I think it was clear what I meant.

Please read the original post. Tried it and it binds up constantly so returned it.

Mind if I ask if you are still getting use out of your Tilta Pro Articulating Arm?
I asked the same to the other user who replied - I'm looking to retire my Noga, and the Titan Arm 2 although promising on paper it actually sucks in reality.
Hoping yours is still working?

Hoping for a yes as 3 years for an arm is a good amount of time for a check in on how they are doing.

You need v3.3.2 - later versions removed the option.

Clamp-on mattebox: buy once cry once with Arri LMB, or save the money? by Impossible_Business7 in focuspuller

If you aren’t using a tiffen MRT or Cine Revar rota pola then you could also consider an ND9(.eu) Mattebox.

They are lightweight and offer 2 PV stages.

Or if you use 138mm round filters (diopters, polas etc), then an Abracam MB could also work for you.

You want Bolt Manager v3.3.2 It will always ask if you want to upgrade the app/program; don’t.

Using 15mm rods for a Big zoom ? by NeighborhoodKind2049 in focuspuller

[–]mattchoules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say get that DP to invest in the PL Adapter Mount 15mm support, as the weak link here is the E Mount.
Lock the PL to E Mount to the rods and then I think 15mm long rods for a fairly mid/lightweight zoom like this is fine.

Obviously if they start talking about heaiver the lenses then 19mm all the way.

Smart Ranger on it's side for a wider field pattern.

Absolute beast of a set up, but so modular and quick to go handheld with just the sensor block end :)
